About FlashBangZ and the relationship between us... (Patreon)

Hi y'all!

Since I started releasing AI-Shoujo trial packs, I keep getting some information from some users, like my pack and his being really similar, and some even suggesting we are one and the same.

First off: I'm happy to first confirm that, no, we're nothing of the sort, I have not directly interacted with him till today.

Now, to the matter at hand, the similarity between our packs... Here's where it gets interesting.

A whole lot of users have drawn the conclusion that our packs are so similar that there's a obvious connection. As I didn't ever download a AI pack from him till today, that struck me as a strange coincidence, but nothing special that required my attention. I did however elect to put a dud unity3d file in my pack, and test that the game didn't try to load it so that it would cause no ill effect on the game for my users. Once that were tested to be the case I applied it and went to bed, waiting for the newest illusion update to drop so that I may add that to it as well. That file will be removed on my next pack, but I repeat It's just a dud file with almost no content, and no executable code!

I then thought nothing of it again, till earlier today when someone were talking about his pack, and thought I might as well follow up on my dud file, so I paid him a visit and grabbed a copy for myself.

I am happy to announce that I didn't find any malware, as some users have expected me to, I did however find that my dud file were included. To those of you that've downloaded his pack on my recommendation, you can easily find my dud file.

This concerns his V2.0 and my R1.3.

It's located in \abdata\sound\setting\sound3dsettingdata and if you open xx.unity3d in notepad you should get this:

This repack is using BetterRepack AI Shoujo as a base.

Besides the obvious, he uses my pack, this shows a lack of control of the sources used. You won't find a xx.unity3d in any Illusion game that I've seen, so that would make me extremely interested in looking further into it, but that seems to not be the case. Such a lack of due diligence in his pack, could lead to some bad stuff getting snuck in, and that I find concerning.

I have not done similar tricks with my other packs (Koikatsu, Emotion Creators and PlayHome), but I'm prone to believing similar stuff has happened over there, taken that users have noted marked similarities in those packs recently as well, though I do not plan to look further into those allegations, so feel free to disregard them.

Now, I've talked with FBZ, and though it were a bit of confusion at the start, I appreciate him offering to credit me on his next release. I am happy that he's using a safe trusted source for his pack, so I'll make do with that knowledge, though he should take care to check what he includes in his pack a bit more.

I feel that the users of the packs, both mine and his should hear the full story, and FlashBangZ has been informed of what I intend to announce and where I intend to do it. 

I will not be posting this elsewhere as he's already banned from the IS Discord, and my server isn't for discussion, so he's out of places to respond if someone addresses him. He's free to respond here, and I will not be deleting any of his posts here. I request everyone be civil and not do something silly like nuking his discord or anything similar. I REPEAT: Do NOT take this as a blessing to go on a witch hunt!
