My SSD where I installed HS2 is dead. I'm looking for a way to recover the data but at this point it seems to be unlikely.

I was working on Reina and made quite a progress before it happened, not a total loss since I saved my source files and .blend projects on separate drives. I can continue from that, maybe few steps back but fortunately will not have to be entirely from scratch.

But here's the bigger problem, I can't even test the result in HS2 since, well, I lost the game. I can install it back but problem now is the remaining drives don't have enough space for HS2 (you know how bloated the game is). I'm buying replacement ASAP but it may take a day or two to arrive.

We're still in the middle of the month so I'm confident I can finish Reina (delayed as it will be) and more importantly getting my HS2 back running again. Thank you for your understanding and support.

This may help. I had this exact same thing happen to me about a week ago. SSD's are supposed to lockup to read only once they start dying , the only way i was able pull off my HS2 data off my dead SSD , was hooking it up to a Ubuntu Os img to read it , i used my laptop and booted to the OS via usb. Once i hooked up my SSD and was able to read it to transfer that data to another external. You can find the Re LiveDVD V4.iso everything ready to go, that i used. in this github. i actually use this tool for other things though. https://github.com/bkerler/mtkclient

I suspect the controller is fried, as blackout happened when I was running HS2 then when power back on Windows unable to boot until I remove the SSD. Same thing when I tried using enclosure and connect via USB, it just freeze Windows. I'm not sure if other OS can read it if the problem is damaged hardware
