I remember seeing this in one of the local theaters. One of the forgotten very well acted Leo films but the cast in itself is amazing. This was just after Titanic so Leo was still very young so it showed his talent back then. One of my fave films :)

Titanic was still in the theater when this came out and I remember everyone was wondering if this movie was going to finally beat Titanic in the box office but I knew there was no way.

I love this movie, love the Musketeers stories! This cast was amazing, Jeremy Irons is so good in this and is an amazing actor, his voice is so soothing and commanding, no wonder they chose him for the voice of Scar! I loved how skilled they were and still could go and you didn't doubt for a second that these 4 older guys could take every one of these young soldiers out. The shot of all of them not wanting to fire and even closing their eyes is one of my favorite moments of the film. I am impressed you picked up on it quickly that D'Artagan was their father and that they were twins! It does make so much sense why he believed in him so much and why he wouldn't betray him, every time he told any of them he wouldn't give up on his king, he was really saying he wouldn't ever give up his son and the poor guy was dealing with so much with knowing he's Louis' father, being in love with the queen which is forbidden, he definitely would have been killed, they did have an affair after all and you can also see he really wanted to be loyal to his friends, his family but couldn't do it, it's fitting when Phillippe said he was the one in the mask. That shot of Louis circling Phillippe was so well done, it really looks like Leo has a twin and that whole scene is so good. Leo has always been an amazing actor, I'm glad he's respected now but it took a long time for people to take him seriously, I highly recommend seeing What's Eating Gilbert Grape, it's worth watching just for his and Johnny Depp's performances, actually everyone is really good in the film.
