Love this movie! The introduction of Cillian Murphy waking in a hosptital is a homage to the first modern zombie style story, "The Day Of The Triffids". (The antagonists in that were giant,slow moving, carnivorous plants with a deadly sting but the story beats of the total breakdown of civilization and desparate struggles of survivors are now standard.) The scene was also recreated in the TV show "The Walking Dead"

Great reaction guys. There a sequel aswell called 28 Weeks later. Its a very good sequel also.
