Status Post/Important Announcement 18/11/20 (Patreon)

Wow, it's been a long while since I last made one of these, hasn't it? Sorry about that everyone - stuck in pandemic isolation, spending all my days in the same two rooms... Well, nothing felt like it had changed enough to warrant a status report. And honestly, I wanted to save the energy for writing, which has been getting steadily harder the longer this situation has dragged on. I really hoped I would have bounced back at some point by now, but I just feel like I'm falling further and further behind.

Which is why it has become pretty clear some stuff needs to change. As much as I wish it, this pandemic isn't going anywhere soon, and with the problems it's causing me, I need to switch tracks. So, with that said, I'll be taking a break from January onwards - I'll still be working to finish any series or outstanding commissions (or voter fics) but I won't be taking any more work on after the start of 2021. I've been doing this for a year and I think I've earned a short vacation xD I'll be putting this patreon on pause at that point, so none of you will be billed for January, at minimum.

After that, though, I'm going to be looking to start up an old project of mine - which means I'm going to be going on hiatus as a patreon writer for some time. That said, I'll still be writing and taking on commissions outside of patreon - I'll just be re-purposing this account for something else. To be clear - if you're supporting me for my writing, I 100% am telling you to drop your subscription to this patreon come Janurary 1st. If and when I resume my current business model, I'll put up announcements on DA and other places I frequent, and you can consider resubscribing when that day comes!

As for what I'm going to be switching to, I'm going to be going back to my roots as a game dev - which I imagine may be something of a surprise to most of you. But it's true, years ago the first piece of content I ever put out for the world on the internet was an RPG Maker game called Ascenda's Descent, which I have always promised I would one day finish, when life got stable enough for me to do so.

Well, that's taking too long, and I can't wait forever. This is stable enough for now.

Since writing has become difficult for me, I'm switching over to making games, instead. Possibly just the one, depends on how well it goes. But specifically, I am going to be completing Ascenda's Descent - or rather, remaking it from scratch (I mean, I made the original in RPG Maker VX and like, that was maybe three RPG Makers ago). And I'll be setting this patreon up as a place for people to support me in doing so, since a few people have encouraged me to do just this over the years - starting next year.

If you're interested in seeing how that game turns out - and believe me, it will be full of Mind control and Transformation - then please keep an eye on this place, or on my Deviant Art, and I'll be doing my best to keep everyone informed.

Whether you do or don't, though, I do have one thing I'd like to say to everyone who's come through here over the past year - thank you. Like, really, thank you so, so much. I enjoyed the hell out of writing, and I couldn't have done any of it without the faith you guys showed me. I honestly don't enjoy my own stuff all that much, so it's hard for me to believe that anyone would ever want to read it. But you all actually paid money to encourage me to do so, and that's more than just incredible, that's genuinely changed my life. I owe you all a debt I can't repay.
