Status Update 16/04 (Patreon)

Well, lockdown continues. As you might guess from my somewhat slowed output, it's been a bit rough on me - but no worries! I think I'll get the hang of things yet. I hope you're all enjoying the writing - and staying safe in the middle of all of this.

I'm hoping that all this writing I've been doing has helped me improve as a writer. It's certainly helped me generate more content at a consistent rate (... usually) but I'm sure I can do better with more practice!

On a less fun note, I have an announcement to make about how this patreon is going to work. I'm going to be switching over to Upfront payment - which means that when people join here, they'll be charged immediately for the month. 

I've kind of been avoiding doing this? Like, it feels awkward, it makes commissions difficult, and I get people not having the money to see the things they'd like to see. But it's gotten so depressing every day seeing all these emails about people pledging support and then checking and seeing they deleted that pledge immediately. There's a list of names of accounts that have ducked in, read everything, and ducked out again, sometimes several times, and I'd just like that to stop.

I'm being silly, I know - I mean honestly I should have done this months ago, but, yeah, awkward. Anyway, I'm giving a heads up so that people who want to cancel early this month can do so to avoid being charged - I'll be putting it into effect next week. Don't worry if you do need to - I totally get it. We all have less money to throw around than we used to.
