V0.14 Progress Update #4 (Patreon)

First and foremost, the next beta will be on Friday. It was meant to be last week, but it just wasn't ready in time because the Meg scene I was working on took longer than planned and then I got into doing something that was polled not long ago: Bedroom redecorating. 

The first part of this is complete. You can now buy a set of new picture frames from the in game store which will replace the posters currently in the players bedroom. Then you can click on the picture frames and choose which picture to display on it. New images will be unlocked as you progress characters stories and mostly, progressing their photoshoots.

This took a lot of work to get worked as it required a bunch of changes to old code, as well as new code and a hell of a lot of rendering for each image. I'm sure if I was good in photoshop, I could make have done it a different or quicker way, but I'm very happy with how the the results turned on.

I'm also going to look at adding additional things to the players bedroom. Maybe trophies you can buy after certain milestones and display in the room? I've not looked into how I would do this, but it's just something I've been thinking about as I found customising the room quite fun from both a developer perspective as well as it's a fun mechanic to have in the game as a player.

In other news, there's currently a poll running here discussing the idea of splitting the game into chapters. This wouldn't be something I do anytime soon, but I am aware the game is growing in size and downloads may become an issue down the line. So the idea would be to split the game into chapters once I hit a certain file size. Chapter 2 would be the exact same game, it would just remove all the old content and continue from where Chapter 1 leaves off, so no story or gameplay changes, but a smaller file size. As I said, not anything I'm planning to do immediately, but I'm gauging how people would feel about it.
