Content

Most people seemed to enjoy the latest beta, which I'm happy about, but it also revealed some flaws that I plan to address before the end of the next update. One concern people have had is the number of times they've had to say no to certain content types, which while I can understand, it's a problem with how I developed the game originally.

As most people will probably know, this is my first game. Which means I'm doing a lot of learning while developing. It also means I make mistakes, a lot of them! One is not tracking enough variables. Unfortunately, due to the way the game works, there isn't a way to track what choices someone made retroactively. The only solution I would have, would be to force a new save.

This is something I am considering for V0.12, but won't be something I push for V0.11. Unfortunately, this will require a lot of work and probably bugs as it'll mean going through every content type choice, adding a variable and then updating any events to check that variable. So honestly that's not something I'm rushing into wanting to do.

People have also mentioned that I've been heavily leaning into certain content types recently, specifically the club. Which is true, I've put a lot of content into or around the club, but that is for multiple reasons. The main ones being that A) creating the club was a lot of work and I wanted to make use of it and B) it wouldn't make much sense for Claire to open a club and then not spend much time there.

That all said, I will be moving away from that more in future. Not because of the complaints, but because it would now make more sense in the story to do so. Claire has been there a lot, the club is a success, now she can afford to spend some time away doing other things. I expect most people reading this wouldn't have had much issue with the recent content, but I like to be open about my thoughts and reasons for things.

Finally, I'm moving house. For the first time I'll be moving out of my family home and living with a friend. It's a terrifying prospect considering the very reason I started developing this game was because of anxiety stopping me being able to work. But, thanks to all of you supporting this game, I am in a position where I can start to regain some of that lost time and take some independence. It's terrifying as Patreon is my only source of income, so without you guys, I would be screwed.

Which means once again I have to thank all of you. Whether you've supported the game for a long time or are a brand new Patreon, I appreciate every one of you and the faith you have in me to develop a game that you find worthy of supporting financially. You've allowed me to get something that I thought for years I would maybe never get, so thank you!

The move shouldn't take more than a couple of days, so assuming it all goes smoothly, it shouldn't effect the development of the game at all. A new beta is in the works and hopefully will get to you soon. I just have a couple of paths to finish on scenes for Meg and Claire as well as a scene for Amy I would love to get done before the next beta, but I'm unsure if that'll happen yet. I know, withholding Amy scenes, how mean of me!
