Billing Changes (Patreon)

Just a quick post to update you all on changes to billing. For existing subscribers, there'll be no change, you'll continue to be charged on the 1st of each month. For new or rejoining subscribers, you'll now be charged on the day you sign up (as normal) and then again on that day each month instead of the 1st.

This is fairer for anyone subscribing later in the month, as you'll still get a month of access, instead of being charged again on the 1st. So, on the old system if you signed up on the 25th of a month, you'd pay then and then be charged again a week later for the new month. On the new system, if you sign up on the 25th, you'll be charged then and then won't be charged again until the 25th of next month.

Also, for anyone subscribing through the Patreon IOS app, Apple are being dicks and making Patreon swap to their own IOS payment system, meaning Apple will charge a fee of 30% of all sales. This means any subscriptions made on IOS will cost 30% more than on Android or web. So, if you want to save money, I highly suggest you don't subscribe through IOS. I do not get any of the extra cost, it all goes to Apple.
