Lets break this down into topics - today you will experience:

- Prologue 01_Dream

- New Core Gameplay-Loop

- New Animation System

- Ultimate Unreal Melody Version 3!!!

Prologue 01_Dream

The game has currently 12 chapters planned and 8 additional datable base characters next to Projekt Melody and Melware, each with their own character progression and separate dating storyline.

We section our planning off into Chapters and Sub-Chapters, to make things easier to plan and track - and obviously to communicate the completion rate of each section of the game.

Next to chapters and sub-chapters, we use "Stages" to further distinguish quality levels each sub-chapter. Stages are separated into 3 Types.

Stage 1: Minimum Viable Product! This means: a sub-chapter is fun to play and interact with, but maybe lacks a bit in variety.

Stage 2: Extended Variety! This means that we add additional animation variations to scenes, to further add depth to the gameplay and also add more polish to each scene.

Stage 3: Extended Interactivity! This means that we add interactive systems to sex scenes, which will allow the player to take a pause from our very dialogue-heavy scenes and focus on the "matter" at hand wink wink.

The currently available sub-chapter 01_Dream is at the time at around Stage 1 level of quality.

Why do we use stages?

We want to provide you with both good gameplay AND a great story. Since we are still a fairly small team, we need to prioritize tasks efficiently, in order to get things done. This sometimes means, taking a step back from AAA and focusing on what's important to let you share our characters stories.

New Core Gameplay-Loop

As many of our long-term patrons can surely remember - we already showcased two fairly different game loops, that showcased how this game could play.

With this newest iteration, we believe we got a lot closer to how to best tell a story and keep the lewd feelings flowing. For this build we focus on 3 main gameplay pillars.

Player Choice, Flowing Dialogues, Juicy S*x-Scenes!

We will address this topic more in-depth in our next month's public Q&A, so playtest the current build and let us know how you felt about it. And obviously ask us questions, if you want to know more about where this game is going to be headed and how we plan to get there!

New Animation System

The new animation system allows us to create larger swaths of animations in comparably higher quality, with a smaller amount of animations created overall.

This is how we tackle content creation speed!

We need to start with the issues we faced in the April and May builds. Back then we tested how many animations we could possibly create and how in depth we could go with them - and honestly? We were not efficient enough. The last build needed an overall of around 30-40 animations produced - that is per character.  That said - we did need to find out where the hard limit is for us, at our current state and we made decisions based on the last 2 months in order to get better results more efficiently.

This is where the new animation system comes in. This system is focus on modularity. We produce base animation loops and follow up with up to 3 variants and interactions based on said base loop.

In engine, we use modular animations to then blend together different animation layers additively. Body Animations get gesture and face animations layered on top. This allows us to create an insanely bigger amount of content with a smaller amount of work, compared to our initial approach with fully linear hand-animated content.

Our Takeaway from the last 6+ months!

All this experience in running these build types has given us data to make sure we understand how we scale the production and what our limits are. This will increase our chances of success and help with making sure we deliver you a finished product - in a reasonable time-frame.

Ultimate Unreal Melody Version 3!!!

We present to you Melody "Type: Unreal" version 3!

We initially started out with our unique take on a stylized PBR Projekt Melody, then transitioned over to a more classical and steam-friendly iteration of Mels original base body and finally ended up with merging both our versions into the one and only "Type: Unreal" Projekt Melody

Version 3 takes the best from both worlds, new and old Mel. Original hair style, original clothing and underwear with the added power of our super tasty and juicy high poly stylized PBR body that has a better fit with our environment.

We worked a long time on making sure we stay away from the uncanny valley with our own version of Melody and hope that the final merge brought back the eyesight to feast on and the memories of old to get entrenched in.

We look forward to your, as usual, painfully honest feedback and are happy to keep the conversation going about Melody's look and feel in our game.

That said - our immediate focus for the upcoming months will be to further complete more characters to finally let Melody meet her peers in Virtual Little Tokyo!

Known Bug issues

  • Setting Shadows to medium quality makes shadow look real bad (just set everything else to medium but keep shadows high for now)
  • Some Audio Lines may not spawn (will be fixed in the bug fix build next week)
  • Using Skip does not always interrupt the previous scene audio
  • One audio line seems to have a minor mixing error (will get fixed over the next week)
  • Animation Transitions sometimes jump slightly
  • Melody does not always properly look the player in the eyes
  • Fatal Error can occur randomly at times (seems to be connected to DX12, we will test a Vulkan build next week too)
  • The mouse cursor might lag if the game runs in low fps.
  • There is a known issue where the resolution is starting up wrong. Picking an resolution in windowed mode (by example) and restarting the game will fix this.

Not Included

- Lovense capable animations (coming in next weeks build)
