Drawing a village built on a cliff face is a little complicated, but I think this design should work. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what I'm going for here: one, two.

Also, it's not shown, but there's going to be a small mine. That seems like one of the reasons you might build a village on a cliff. The other is, of course, just to do it as a flex.

Anyway, I'm gonna get to work on coloring this. Let me know what you think so far!

I'm excited to see the final version, I may have to sneak this map into my version of the Rock of Bral and its outlying asteroids

Also, I've been tossing around the idea of drawing something like the Rock of Bral for a few years now. Probably not *quite* as big, but the same sort of idea.

Looking forward to the finished product. I already know exactly where I can use this in a campaign.

I've wanted to run a series of encounters in an area similar to where Christian Bale's Batman meets Ra's al Ghul: the cliffside village with an ancient monastery at the top. PCs been following the breadcrumbs which leads them to this villager. The BBEG in the monastery (who is actually a dragon), invites them to the monastery for a little chat (and by chat I mean battle). I see encounters (both combat and non-combat) running throughout the town, into the monastery, and into the dragon's lair below the monastery. This town will be perfect for these encounters. When I ran the scenario for the first time, I omitted the town because I had a hard time envisioning what it would look like or how it could work architecturally. My original concept was boring with a linear town built along a single path. Hated it, so I threw it out. This, however, is exactly what I wanted to do. So, thank you.

I actually made a map of a monastery that's pretty similar to this map, called the Tigers' Nest. If you haven't seen it, it might be worth a look: https://www.milbysmaps.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Tigers-Nest-Monastery-WEB-60x50-1.jpg

I've been toying with a couple of idea, and that one was top of my list! I just wanted a village to go with it, and here it is! My original idea was something to accommodate a large training organization, something similar to Abbey of St. Markovia from Curse of Strahd, but that is rather cumbersome. I think Tiger's Nest is much closer thematically. I could achieve the same concept if I include the town and some of your secret room add-ons you've developed. It's kind of the odd way I work. I get an idea for a location or organization, find a map that fits, then finish putting together the organization based on the map's inspiration. LOVE the village. Now I just need to finalize the monastery, but I really like what Tiger's Nest offers.
