I remember like way way way way way back when the three generals problem Satoshi paper came out and blockchain wasn't still yet very understood and the one example that evangelists settled on was, this would be a great way to store land records in countries that don't have a strong legal system. In a way I feel like this NFT craze is the first IRL implementation of this idea that took off And *that* in turns remind me of that anecdote that the people who create the World Wide Web, the only practical example they could give of what normies could do with it was to share cooking recipes
