Andrew and Riley are joined by Dan Boeckner of Operators and The Bottlemen for the second episode of our series about the lasting cultural impact of September 11. We discuss Dan's recollection of the day, the impact that 9/11 had on the playlists of radio stations across the country, artists censoring their own songs, misguided musical output, and the only musician we can think of to create a lasting, prescient response in the form of a memorable concept album.

Sprayer Kinney did pretty good attacks on the homogeneity of America’s cultural response to 9/11 in their 2002 album “one beat” Also worth looking up is The Coup’s Party People which originally had the duo blowing up the twin towers on the cover art. A complete coincidence as they made the album before the disaster
