Man, I really have no interest in MxM. I joined this patreon really hoping for MxF. I do recall you saying somewhere that Mating Season was going to be primarily MxF, and that's why I joined your Patreon, but I'm not sure if I misread something. Obviously this isn't my call to make, but if there's nothing of an MxF variety here, I am probably going to leave. I don't know how many others are in a similar situation, but I wanted to express this clearly. I want to make clear also that this isn't anything personal, and I have no ill-will toward you. If anything, I think the lesson you may want to draw from this is to more explicitly set expectations for your patrons. I'm not sure if this is really something that you should be putting up for a vote, frankly: it seems like a better idea to have a product that's clearly labelled, and then people can choose to join your Patreon if that product is what they want. Having votes like this also kind of puts your patrons at odds with each other. The Patreon polls I've seen usually come in two flavors: either proportional (in other words, getting information to decide what PROPORTION of content should be MxM/MxF/FxF), or superficial ("Do you want THIS MxM pairing, or THIS MxM pairing?"). Because of the context, this poll strikes me as a winner-take-all poll (as though Mating Season is either going to go in an MxF direction, an MxM direction, or an FxF direction). If that isn't the case, you may want to clarify. Sorry for writing an essay in your comments! EDIT: I am reading and re-reading this comment, and am wringing my paws over how cringey it may or may not be, so I thought I'd throw in some self-deprecating humor at the end here for good measure.

There's nothing wrong with having a preference for this kind of thing. The only thing I would raise is that I'm interested in... both, I suppose? Much as others have said, that's not my unique call to make, but it seems like there's more than enough content to go around for this kind of thing (MxM, MxF, FxF). Perhaps a poll option of "no strong preference" could reflect this. My own bias might be towards MxM, but I hope there's a happy medium or something for everyone to enjoy. Anyway, just my two cents.

Hahahahaha, no worries! I see. Hm I think I put somewhere that mating season it was going to be MxM and MxF, but maybe I should label my comics from now on one or the other. I was also thinking on doing shorter one shots (more straight forward, I feel like some people don’t like as much context as I do, could you give me your opinion on it? 0:)

wow, what a homophobic rant above, i'm sorry about that. i remember you specifically mentioned that mating season would be a mix of both MxM and MxF. I think the comic should have both, my preference is for MxM however I do enjoy variety and would like to see both personally, and would like to see FxF too. I believe that including everything allows everyone to enjoy it for whichever part is their preference. simply dismissing the whole comic if it isnt mostly MxF feels incredibly disrespectful and homophobic honestly

I don’t think it’s an homophobic rant or disrespectful at all, it’s just someone saying it’s preferences, which it’s ok. I do think both points above give me some insight, for instance, I think I should add to every public comic description a clear preview of what will contain so people clearly know what they are getting themselves into.

Yeah I'm sure a lot of us were really teased by the lovely way you drew the female growlithes and we wanted to see more of that. There's something uniquely wonderful about the style of the original comic, that kept me coming back to it. So, the direction the comic is going now came as a surprise. I honestly was disappointed, as I'm sure some other people who came for the comic were. I won't tell you not to do it though, since it seems from this poll you have a big enough audience who want this. But I can't say it doesn't feel like having something I want dangled in front of me for a long time and then not getting it. Just like our protagonist. I'm not even opposed to MxM content in general, but I was really attached to the idea of what this particular comic would be about. Honestly I was never quite sure from a story perspective how you could deliver on what we were fantasizing about though, since this character needs to learn and grow in some way before he can have that. Perhaps a female arcanine could have put him in his place? I dunno. He seemed pretty straight though. I hope he's not just "settling" for this. Maybe he discovers he prefers it? Or maybe this experience helps him chill and not be so desperate, which in turn helps him get with a girl later? I don't really know what your plans are for the story. I'm gonna stick around regardless. Just wanted to share how I feel and how I assume some other people here feel as well.
