The new body of Shirou retains all human functions and he still got his soul, so technically it's original Shirou at the end, just with a different vessel.

Will we be getting Fate/Apocrypha as the next Fate series? Its a short alternate universe timeline of a Holy Grail war before Fate/Zero's events. (I think)

When Ilya closed the grail, she transfered his soul in a state who can be incorpored into a receptacle, the soul then overwrite the apparence of the dummy. In this universe the soul is the thing who control everthing. He's remotlely control the dummy with is soul. His body funtion like a human one, with pulse, blood, everthing.

The dummies, it's connected to Touko Aozaki of Kara no kyuokai. Many of the author work Kinoko Nasu is interwinned. And Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg is one of the top brass on Magical side on London, know for being a Prankster and capable of looking in the multiverse and many character when something go wrong, blame him.

Dunno if you noticed but the guy with blue hair in the flashbacks (Makiri) was Zouken when he was younger. Thats why they thought it was shinji at first because of their same bloodline.

As for why the blades come out of Shirou like that, remember Archer's Unlimited Bladework Chant? " I am the bone of my sword Steel is my body and fire is my blood" Combine that with the Scabbard of Excalibur that Shirou has inside him when Kiritsugu rescued him from the fire? Yeah, after coming into contact with EMIYA Archer (the fandom refers to Archer as EMIYA with all caps), whenever he regens, instead of normal bodies, his wounds are healed by small blades instead. In the movie, Shirou suffers the same blades thingy due to magic circuit overload. I think.

Regarding Kirei's objective. He wanted Angra Mainyu to be born so it could provide an answer as to whether someone like him is allowed to exist in this world. He was born defective/evil and only found happiness in misfortune. Angra Mainyu exists to kill, with no such influence from humanity. If it does not doubt its own functions, it cannot be evil because it was not given this concept of evil by god - thus providing Kirei salvation over his existence. If it does feel guilt, then that means murder being an evil deed is not just a concept made by man, but is inherently so. May be missing some stuff but yeah. One of the most well written villains in all of anime imo.

plot wise i think thats better compared to Grand Order. (but honestly i would suggest kaleid ilya) just to clarify, im not saying FGO is bad, its just, without the game, its hard to piece the story together. specially how the 'arcs' aren't released in order and isnt even done in anime form.

Really nice reaction！ This movie series is a happy ending for Sakura. However, I couldn't stop crying at the movie theater. This movie is Japan's top-level animation. I think it's Tanya next week, do you have any plans to watch a Violet Evergarden movie?

This will be a long post, I apologize for the length but there is a lot of say and some people might give some answers while I'm typing so sorry if I repeat somethings other people already said. First about Medusa's Noble Phantasm and the fight with Artoria Alter in general (since the movie is over I'm gonna use real names) First I should say her Noble Phantasm is actually the golden bridle she used with the Pegasus, not the Pegasus itself. The bridle (bellerophon) allows her to control it as it's a Divine Beast of the phantasmal species which is something that normally even Rider servants can't handle. The Pegasus itself was summoned by Medusa using her blood as a catalyst (you saw how she threw her blood around and created a summoning circle when she declared the use of her Noble Phantasm) this is possible because of her legend because in Greek Mythology the Pegasus was born from the blood of Medusa's severed neck after her head was cut off by Perseus. This is also what qualifies her for Rider Class, having such a close connection to a famous mount like Pegasus (Side Note: Medusa also qualifies for Lancer and Avenger class) Something else worth noting about Medusa's Noble Phantasm against Artoria's Excalibur that often people don't think about is that in the original Visual Novel it was stated that when the attack from the Pegasus struck Artoria, because it had to charge through Excalibur's beam to hit her, Excalibur had offset 90% of the force. Which means the hit that left Artoria twitching on the ground was actually only 10% of the power Medusa's Noble Phantasm had. About Medusa's eyes vs Artoria. basically if you have enough mana/magic resistance you can resist the petrification effect as you saw Artoria do, however even if you can resist being petrified it still has impact on the fight as it still lowers your combat parameters while you're resisting the eyes. Another thing worth noting is that Medusa didn't just have speed going for her, was was able to clash with Artoria because Medusa has a skill called "Monstrous Strength" which allows her to temporarily boost her physical strength beyond what she has normally, however the more she uses it the more she becomes like the monster she was in Greek Mythology in the later part of her life so she has to use it in moderation. Also one last tidbit about that fight, Medusa saying she could only stand up to Artoria for minutes was just her underestimating herself, in the novel it was said she actually lasted over 10 minutes (which I believe was longer then Heracles lasted when fighting Artoria Alter) Moving on to Shirou and what was happening to his body, basically after using Hero EMIYA's arm Unlimited Blade Works started invading his body. Basically he couldn't control EMIYA's power and Unlimited Blade Works was manifesting INSIDE his body and exploding out. (Hence why people told him not to use the arm.) It was wearing on him so much that it was even eating away at his mind. Hence why he said "it's you" when Medusa showed up at the end, his mind was falling apart and he couldn't remind she was "Rider", it's also why he had trouble remembering Illya's name at the end. As for how Illya was there at the end, it's simple, she was actually there. The physically came to the cave in person, sacrificing herself to save Shirou was basically her plan from the start, she never intended to wait at home, after Shirou and the others left she pretty much went straight to her castle to get the Dress of Heaven (what she was wearing at the end) and went to the cave. At this time I feel I should mention that Illya wasn't just talking at the end when she called Shirou her little brother, Shirou is 17 while she is 18. Her body doesn't age properly due to being the child of a Homonculus and a Human in addition to being modified to become the Holy Grail. It's why Illya asked Rin at the start of the movie what it's like to be an older Sister. Also good job Brian, you actually figured how what happened with Shirou at the end of the story, basically Illya used the third magic to materialize Shirou's soul, Normally after the body dies the soul disperses and returns to Akasha. While it's possible to transfer a soul to other bodies before that happens, the soul gradually breaks down over time and even starts to rot as was happening to Zouken, he had been prolonging his life for so long that his soul was falling apart. (Note: If you didn't figure it out Zouken was the guy with the Blue hair in the flashbacks.) The Third Magic materializes the soul and stops it from breaking down even after the body is gone. In it's perfect form a soul materialized by the Third Magic gains perfect immortality and become a High-dimensional planer being. However Illya was only able to pull off an incomplete version of the Third Magic and the best she could so was stop his soul from dispersing after his body fell apart from the strain that using EMIYA's arm put on it. So afterward they needed to find a new container for his soul which was the puppet body they found. Once a soul is placed in a proper container it will use it's memories to recreate it's old form, basically bringing it to life. Meaning the new body will, bleed, get sick, age and eventually die. As for Medusa still being around at the end, she wasn't incarnated. Normally it's not possible for a mage to produce the enough mana to keep a high power familiar like a servant in the world, it's only possible during the holy grail war because the grail is making it possible by doing most of the work in the background. However Sakura is a unique case, even though Shirou severed her connection to Aŋra Mainiiu using Rule Breaker she is still connect to the grail which means she stlil has access to the Grail's mana supply so she can produce enough mana to keep a servant in the world. Now just a few Miscellaneous notes: First the movie didn't explain it very well but Shirou made the jewel sword the Rin used to fight Sakura, that was why they showed Shirou that image from the past, they wanted his to see the sword so he could use EMIYA's arm to project a copy of it so Rin could use it against Sakura. Incidentally, about the Rin and Sakura fight. Basically how the sword made it possible for Rin to match her was Sakura's connection to the grail gave her access to an unlimited mana pool, but her actual max mana capacity wasn't much different from Rin's. The issue is that Sakura can fire attacks that use all her mana in one go and immediately get all her mana refilled. Rin can hold her off if she also fires an attack with all her mana, the issue of course is she doesn't have an infinite mana pool to refill her. The Jewel sword makes it possible because it sucks in mana from parallel worlds and because the number of parallel worlds the sword can produce an infinite amount of mana. Next little tidbit, the grail originally actually was a wish granting device like everyone said it was, the problem was the third grail war when the Einzbern's tried to "cheat" and summoned Aŋra Mainiiu as an Avenger class servant, after he was killed in the 3rd war and his soul was absorbed by the grail it became corrupted by all the evil in the world and turned into what it was in the 4th and 5th wars. Basically the Einzbern's ruined it for everyone. As for why Avenger/ Aŋra Mainiiuu was weak despite being the Zoroastrian "god of evil". Basically they simple picked a random human and decided to treat him as the source of all evil in the world so they, locked him up, tortured him, beat him, beat him, carved curses into his body and wouldn't let him die until he died of old age. By cursing him as "evil" the people who did this could believe they were "good" hence in a way his suffering "saved" people which is why Aŋra Mainiiu was recorded in the Throne of Heroes as a hero and could be summoned as a servant but he was weak because he was just a normal human who was used as a scapegoat so other people could feel good about themselves. (you can kind of see why he was "compatible" with Sakura) Finally as the Avenger class has been revealed to you know. I'll just add in that yes there are more then 7 servant classes. Saber, Lancer, Archer, Rider, Caster, Assassin and Berserker are the 7 "standard" classes but there are more, rare classes called "Extra Classes" Avenger, the servant of vengeance being one of them (As I said at the start Medusa actually also qualifies to be summoned as an Avenger, if she was summoned in that class she would manifest as the monster she was at the end of her life when she was killed by Perseus rather then her human form she has as a Rider) I won't go into details because this comment is already way too long but the other Extra classes are: Avenger, Ruler, Alter-Ego, Moon Cancer, Foreigner, Pretender (There is also one called "Faker" which is sort of similar to Pretender still different). As I said I won't go into details as most of these aren't relevant unless you play the video games particularly the Grand Order Mobile game. Anyway sorry for the long comment and if you actually take the time to read this rambling all the way to the the end then thank you but I wouldn't blame you if you don't.

"Carnival Phantasm" is a really good series after this Fate. It is an official comedy series about all the characters in fate stay night and characters in another Type-moon work called Tsukihime. I found it no trouble to enjoy without actually knowing the story of Tsukihime since most of it is about Fate/ stay night. It is a wholesome and hilarious show and also not a long one with a total of 12 episodes and each one being 12 minutes only. Really hoping for your reactions to it.

Currently, there isn't an official anime for Tsukihime yet so it is not possible to know its story except actually play the game. But I'm pretty sure UFOtable announced a year ago that they are making an anime series of Tsukihime, so Carnival Phantasm is a pretty good way to learn something about Tsukihime in advance.

an additional class would be 'Savior' from the Moon Cell Grail War which so far only has one 'hero' revealed. Savior is implied to be reserved for Mesiah type heroes, so maybe Jesus and high religious figures. (not spoiling who the Savior servant is)

So yeah, to explain the whole Shirou's soul being transferred to a mannequin, I'll have to get to start with Garden of Sinners and the whole Nasuverse per se. Garden of Sinners gives a good explanation about this matter since it does not only explain the whole magic system in this universe but also goes deeper into the root of Akasha which is the True Magic as we call them, not like the "magic" that magus uses which is just a part-magic. One of the characters from the series appeared by the end of the movie as well, yes, that red-haired girl that passed through Sakura and Rin in the alleyway is actually a relative of one of the most relevant characters in the whole Nasuverse and is considered to be one of the strongest magic-user. I wouldn't deep dive on details and also with the Third Magic stuff since that one has already been explained in one of the comments but yeah, it is worth watching Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of Sinners) since that series greatly explained the magic system in their universe. Plus an FYI if you guys didn't know, Fate/Stay Night is originally an eroge (Erotic Game) but due to the popularity it received from the audiences, it has been adapted into an SFW game/anime series. Saber is inspired by Nasu's previous character from his early work - Tsukihime, from one of the maid characters there that go by the name Hisui. That's just a fun fact that I have and I can't wait for y'all to decide to watch Garden of Sinners after this. It is a total of 8 movies.

By the way.... If you want something lighter, please watch the cooking anime for the Fate series, Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan (Today's Menu for the Emiay Family) There's also Carnival Phantasm for more comedy with Fate series.
