I'm pretty sure you're just frustrated but did he actually restart I mean those dogs bit the crap outta him but while painful looking didn't seem like they really got any vitals but then again didn't someone die in an anime just from tripping so yeah can't rule anything out

well he did get bitten but they didn't show him dying yet like all the other scenes did previously. So rn it's more like a 50/50 survival chance (Other than the one time he died unknowingly in his sleep). I watched this anime before Happy Deathday came out, and I must say Happy Death Day just made me quit a quarter way in. Their plot of dying and restarting really felt more like a 'wow we found an interesting theme, let's over-rely on that theme/power' with minimum progress in the storyline. But compared to that, I feel that Re:Zero is quite a progressive 'Respawn/Return by death' plot. There's constant progress in the plot (It doesn't just repeat itself at the same point but continues as a story) and realistic character development through every death. If anything else, Subaru's realistic thinking of fearing his given ability (not wanting to die, fearing the pain or the chances of actually dying and not returning in his next death, the mental and physical stress accumulated etc) made me empathize more with his character even though i will (hopefully) never truly understand what he's going through. I'm so happy yaall pick up this anime, it'll really play with your emotion and mind as the story progresses with the audience inevitably getting attached to Subaru at a fast pace, because of how relatable he is as a completely normal individual with no overwhelming isekai abilities gg through some tough shyt. Looks like I'll relieving all those hair falling frustrating moments of his ability again at the price of watching yaall react :') Worth it
