I'm just gonna put this out there for everyone who always says "just give him the knife/weapon!" It's not explained in the anime well, but it is shown visually that Hestia has to "soul link" the knife to bell during a status update. You can't just pick up and use the knife because it's kinda "locked" or "unequippable" for use without this small ritual. Thus it also becomes linked to Bell, and Bell alone. I assume it's a safety feature magically forged into the blade by Hephaestus, so not just any random adventurer could pick up the knife and use it - as it's an EXTREMELY potent, high quality weapon that grows with the user - almost game breaking TBH.

Yeah i think if any Random Guy would use it, he could use it as a good Kitchen Knife, but nothing more ^^

I also found out that this Knife wouldnt work if Bell would change the Familia ( what he indeed would never do) The knife is alive and will become stronger according to the wielder's status, so long as the wielder is a member of the Hestia Familia. The weapon is also constructed of Mithril making it able to conduct magic. There are hieroglyphs written across the blade and it was forged with Hestia's hair and ichor.
