In the Manga the whole part until Shizu dies felt more like a prologue than anything else. Again: So nice that you havent watched the opening. ALL of the ogres are spoiled in there, as well as the whole cast, characters that probably do not appear until the last 2 or 3 episodes, possibly not even in this season and so on... Nice one

The Manga is only a" Adaption" from the Original Work like the ANime. They use the Light Novel as Adaption, and they ended Volume 1 of the Slime ANime after 8 EPisodes, so they take there Time to animate it.
