MI Stuff- Thrippers (Patreon)

These little guys!!! They are an excuse for me to draw googly eyes on sticks tbh

They inhabit the surf zone, and like "playing in the waves" (ie jumping into the damp sand left behind by receding waves, and eating the flotsam that washes up). They use their tails as a sort of paddle that allows them to leap into the air to evade enemies or just to posture at each other. Their tails have a sensitive fork that allows them to "see" food behind them, and which can also detach in an emergency... since it has a similar silhouette to their head, they can lose the twitching tail (permanently, unfortunately) and make an escape in a dangerous situation.

The original design from early in the year is at the top... all I knew about them at the time is I wanted them to look aquatic, and I wanted their eyes on a fork. I tried a bunch of orientations but decided to go with a flexible Y shape since it is more humorous and also easier to emote with, design-wise. The final is bottom right~

Anyway we'll be seeing more of these guys later, but this is a quick formal intro for you at least :]
