Pre-order will be ready by May 31- it might be ready on the 30th!

1st up: The ice cream room... aka "The Room of Frozen Delights"

We've seen this room before, but it will have undergone a few changes, so why not just restart the room but keep a few of the basics from issue 4 and 5. Keeping in mind that the factory is falling apart and in dire need of upkeep. Maintenance is long overdue.

I am going to say that Dianne, who (without much of anything to do or keep her mind busy) became freaked out and 'consumed' by a fear of melting, has convinced Wendy, Andrea, or the oompa loompas that a more secure door was needed. So, the same door they use to guard fort knox with is now installed. Dianne overdid it with the thermostat's cold temperature to be safe, and now, the room looks like a freezer that is in need of a deep thaw. There are frosty ice piles in every corner and icicles everywhere! Maybe a liquid nitrogen tank has ruptured... maybe a cream tank's leakage is frozen. I'm getting Arnold Schwarzenegger Mr. Freeze mental images lol. I've put some ideas about what might be seen in the room in the concept art page above. If you have any ideas or fun stories the room might hold, feel free to share in a comment- maybe we can get it in there!

Next on the list #2- a candy throne that can be lifted by oompa loompas...

- candy cane braces, or colorful spiral sucker braces, marshmallow cushions, sour fruit gummies look like emeralds and rare stones,

#3: Dianne, the Ice cream girl character! Here's a base drawing of her so far. She is interacting with a character i want to keep a surprise (hence the secrecy) BUT what do you think- Cherries... chocolate sauce....sprinkles?? what do you put on your ice cream to make it sexier?

(Just added a panel i finished of Dianne. I am finding the gooeyness of her to be very hot. I love the idea that she is constantly having to layer on thick, gooey, heavy cream in order to exist.)

I can imagine the oompa loompas standing around wearing winter clothes and singing Christmas carols.

Oh fun! I loved that part in the movie with Mr. Freeze's hideout and the "Mr. Icicle" song in the background. The only thing that I can think of is maybe sprinkles or ice cream topping for clothes?

Anonymous

Oh I love that! And ice skating in the corner! That would be fun!

blueberrycowz

Ive got lots of fun ideas. 1: you could have a gummy bear storage as some people put gummy bears on their ice cream so why not let Nancy's offspring be included in the fun. 2. I'm seeing the ice skating of the loompahs and maybe in the deep Roy outfits like you see speed skaters wear and they are in a line. 3) whipped cream tanks in a toasty insulator caps, the marshmallow girl made the cream she liked and she wanted to use that in future recipes. 4) how about a cold syrup geyser that erupts every 12 hours to shower Dianne with a new outfit or having Wendy use the syrup or frosting vials to change her clothes and make her look festive in a frozen wardrobe (after all a girl should have the opportunity to style herself even if made of ice cream. 5) A frozen oompa loompa could be fun with a caution cold water or something along those lines would be fun. 5 what about wendy making a snow cream angel and saying how grand it is which then the angel version can come out and say it looks nothing like me. While the devil says something sneaky. 6) As fruit is added to ice cream could have one of the other victims be in their frozen? The frozen blueberry cheerleader, or maybe a set of cherry girls to act as hats and give Dianne some accessories. You could even have chocolate chips styles in different shapes in a way that Wendy dressed her up in.

Jadeghost

Could have some machines/vats holding excess juice/cream/milk from some of the visitors (made mention in passing) and it could be a product for Slushies that never truly melt, like wonkas never melt chocolate. A burst nitrogen tank with a few Loompas frozen as if they were trying to run away from the rupture but were caught. Wendy can even walk by and 'Hi-Five one' snapping a hand or arm off and trying to fit it back on. Wendy tossing sprinkles on the ground instead of salt (an idea, this sounds like a lot of extra work for little gain) for grip/traction on the slippery frozen ground. An intern licking a cold spot in the freezer, like the kid in A Chrimas Story and getting their tongue stuck. Have an area dedicated to other confections, like the Golden Eggs. Gotta store them somewhere till Easter. A big red sleigh with a Santa/Ms clause outfit, in the 10xxxl range, for when Chrismas comes around. "Oh, dont worry. We don't size the outfits to you, we size 'You' to the outfit." A "Wallrus shake", 'it helps you with the cold' kinda milkshake dispenser. One glass adds a "fine" layer of fat to combat the cold. Warning, dont take more than one. Wendy walking along and pulling off Icecycles and making a crown, a literal Ice Queen in a winter land. One of the interns taking Sherbert and molding tiny Snowmen out of it. Using sticks of chocolate as arms. Maybe not ice skates to get around, but those I've shoes that look like tennis rackets. So you don't sink as far into snow. Thermal skin tight suits that hug your form, designed after thermal space age blankets. A trough of warm/hot water with leaks in a pipe, holding different sized ice-cream scoops and spoons. Even a comically large spoon. "MY SPOON!!! IZ TO BIIIIIIG!!!" (Bad joke, but I love that stupid cartoon.) A confection station, but its made of frosted ice. Can even be a bar, like the Zero degree bar in Orlando or the Ice Castle they make in the Arctic every year for tourists to stay in. Maybe an alarm or a blinking light with a readout saying "Error! Overheat imminent", buts it's encased in Ice. A double door leading "Somewhere" pushed open a little bit, but the center of it is frozen solid. Not the entire doorway, just the space between the doors, like it was pushed open a bit before flash frozen, the ice creeping a bit. Pools supplies, a small pile of hoses and a portable pump/vacuum, repurpased for cleaning or servicing the vats and containers.

Coomcheese

Fear of melting does seem like the main concern when your made of icecream. But what does happen if she was to melt would she now just be a liquid waiting to re freeze to have a solid form again?

okayokayokok

Those are all really good ideas, I might be able to use some of those! I love the frozen oompas caught running away

Jadeghost

How about a small 'pasture/coral/holding space for Cows. Cause what better way to get a cold milkshake than right from the teet? Can even be colored different, brown, white, strawberry, banana. A very swollen blueberry cow >w<

Jadeghost

I don't know why, but I get a game of Thrones Cerci vibe from Wendy with the thought of a throne being tossed in lol. Maybe a second candy throne in the background, melted as if by a massive flame from something

blueberrycowz

I could see the throne designed in several ways myself: 1) You could do the Game of Thrones chair with all the swords but have it in the shapes of like suckers, candy canes, licorice bands, and maybe nerds ropes or something like that. Wendy likes power and the candy with the control of the throne may be up her alley 2. You could have it look like Palpatine's throne from Star Wars only there are little indentions in there for the Loompa to have to get under and lift (almost like the statue from the latter Harry Potter movies of the humans being crushed by the throne meets the transport of King Bob's from Recess 3) A throne like a giant bean bag recliner, fluffy and goofy like Wendy's bottom coat and colorful, filled with material that with a simple application of air or fizzy lifting soda can float wherever she wishes. It's dark, weird, and whimsical all in one bite!

okayokayokok

oh i love the idea you had on #3 where she could do something like stick a straw in her chair and start drinking. That would be an awesome functional design. I could also imagine a comedic moment where something punctures the chair and all its contents spill out onto her or an oompa loompa and the royal chair completely deflates. Feels like that could have some meaning within it.

Ooh! The cherries with chocolate looks great!

blueberrycowz

For me it's the cherries that start with it, i like the little clip you sort of have in her hair, it matched sand looks like an accessory, while also looking like the cherry on top is a creative means. Having the cherries on what looks like her boobs makes for little nipple effects too so the cherries win for me. The chocolate sauce is good, but i kind of think it needs to be a little neater like she is using it to accessorize her outfit, have the chocolate look like a bra or some type of shirt to make herself look stylish. Or if you keep the chocolate spread out, then the sprinkles in some type of sexy arrangement could make things cute for her. Like the juicy print on women's sweats, you could maybe spell out something on the front of her shirt with the sprinkles like "SWEET CHEEKS" "ICE MOCHA ANY ONE?" "ICED DREAMS" Just some thoughts with the ice cream toppings and the choices given

Cosmicmoon

I like my ice cream covered with dark chocolate syrup.

Jeff

I agree with you about the chocolate sauce. This probably takes place way after she was transformed so I feel like she would have figured out how to accessorize herself by now and adjust to her situation. The chocolate covering her face seems random to me. If she brushes it off or something it might look better, just my thoughts.

Jadeghost

Sprinkles, they could be like freckles on her. Could do one of those "hard dipped" syrups, I love those. Strawberry hard dip for a potential way of her getting around, kinda like a bra or even a corset.

okayokayokok

Those are 2 great ideas. I've got to find a better way to draw the sprinkles on if I use them.

John

Well, in the little blurb she got in the end of ww6, she was covered in everything possible, so maybe a bit of everything? I would say if she's worried about melting she wouldn't want anything that would make her melt faster. perhaps a chocolate shell of sorts to keep her shape? Like an ice cream bar?

John

Yeah, exactly! Or, maybe has like the hard shell plus syrup to slide around as needed without worrying about her body losing shape? Admittedly, I don't know if she has legs anymore, or if her lower body is just ice cream. so i don't know if she can like, stand on her own. Still! these are good ideas.

John

Bit of an idea on your last update. Her hair being made of ice cream too. also, due to fears of melting, she's continued to add more ice cream to herself, making her larger than she was originally, under the idea that the larger the block of ice, the harder it is to melt it.

SomethingWonderful

Never thought something so cold could be so hot! Sorry, I had to...

I love her excited face! :)

Inspector-Jasper

Love all your comics. Can't wait to see the finished product. Keep up the amazing work.😊

John

So what you released so far is pretty great! That said... I'm a bit sad by what's happened to Dianne? Feels like she didn't deserve everything that's happened to her, and after seeing what happened to her in this one it feels kinda hard to get into when she's had such a result occur. Of all the people who had bad ends, she's probably the only one I'd like to see 'fixed' since she was sorta tricked into her disaster and it's only gotten worse from there. Feels bad.

okayokayokok

I'd like to see her whole again too- she's always been a personal fav, but I got to liking her even more in this issue. On the other hand hough, I don't want to become a writer who can't sacrifice any character. Bringing her back isn't out of the question, but like with a lot of things- if I can't make it work with the story well, I don't want to force it. Someone had a great idea on how the mechanics of how it could be possible she gets brought back but I haven't thought of a reason why yet.

John

Oh absolutely. You never want a character to be so precious that you can't have things happen to them. I suppose for me, there's a level of 'deservedness' that goes with it. The idea being that the fate should match the level of wickedness, so to speak. if the Wonka factory is like Dante's inferno, then worse fates for worse people. That's sorta why I like the peep issue; the girl who tricked the lawyer ended up worse than the lawyer did. I suppose my issue is that Diana never really did anything to deserve a worse fate than say, the blueberry girls. she didn't bring it on herself or the like. That said, the story isn't over. based on the art, she still seems to be alive after all. Perhaps getting put back together as another ice cream dessert?
