Going into the rewatch for this my recollection was Nina Purpleton being arguably the most hated female Gundam character of all time, and yet through 12 episodes I was thinking about just how misunderstood Nina was among the general Gundam fanbase, that between her and Kou, she was by far the more reasonable one, and with rare exception any cringe moments between the two of them were all on him. While maybe she had some naivetés to her regarding her beloved Gundams, she was a pretty good character. Yikes, then this last episode happened! Nina so obviously chose Gato over Kou, and this element of the storyline was just so over the top bad. The final scene seems like a tacked on happy ending but with the way the rest of the episode is, it just rings so hollow to me. I guess one could say Kou was always a massive pushover when it came to romance and that he'd still go with Nina despite her rejecting him for his rival, but as a viewer it's just not a satisfying ending to me. Which is a shame because I think everything else in these last couple of episodes of the show are quite strong. In any case, congrats on wrapping up yet another Gundam show, I look forward to your coverage of Victory Gundam, a show where there are numerous "rumors" about Tomino's state of mind during its creation, hopefully something you can discover and shine the true facts on as you've done for other Gundam shows.

Regarding the Dendrobium as a combined unit, I believe the Orchis is essentially the main unit whereas the Stamen is a glorified core fighter (Which is funny since one of the original design drafts had a core fighter in the Gundam before opting for a core block with the panoramic cockpit).
