Hello patrons, and welcome to episode 16 of Nina's Nihongo Zone! This month I venture away from language questions to talk about one of the things I use to make studying more fun - Japanese stationery!

Some of my favorite Japanese stationery supplies! From the top left: Pilot FriXion erasable gel pens in red and black, Pilot Juice Up gel pen in white, Pentel Hybrid Dual Metallic in gold and silver, Midori lined A5 notebook, a writing board I decorated with washi tape, Hobonichi Techo Classic planner (cover reads おちつけ or "calm down!") and ruler/stencil, Kamio color-sample book sticky notes set, Midori clip-bookmarks, PLUS Mt. Fuji eraser Tokyo Edition, and Zebra Mildliner Brush Pen and Marker set.

- Jetpens.com blog post about Japanese stationery, including examples of some of the more innovative products.

- Wikipedia page about shūgi-bukuro (celebratory gift-envelopes), and a blog post about how to use them.

- Wikipedia pages on gel pens and fudepen (brush pens).

- Additional posts from Nippon.com and Milligram (a chain of stationery stores) about the popularity of Japanese stationery, as well as favorite brands and products.

- Website for the shop I mentioned, Yoseka Stationery

- The intro song is "The city" by The Kyoto Connection, from the album KyotoSoundscapes, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.

- The outro song is "Brain Power" by Mela, from the album Mela two, licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.
