Hello patrons, and welcome to episode 6 of Nina's Nihongo Zone. This month I talk about wordplay! In ZZ episode 11, the subtitles have Mashymre misspeak about Chara in a humorous way. What does he say in Japanese? Is the joke in Japanese at all similar to how the joke is rendered in English? I investigate, and talk a bit about puns in Japanese generally.

I was immensely tickled to learn about "oyaji gyagu". I hope rancid puns are a staple of old guys of all cultures.
