Behind the Scenes: Anime NYC 2019 (Patreon)

I can unreservedly say this is the most fun I've had at a con, ever! We attended a panel discussion with Tomino himself, made a bunch of new Gundam friends (including academics whose research we depend on!), saw fabulous Gundam cosplay that included some really deep cuts, saw amazing gunpla, got a Tomino signature on our First Gundam blu-ray, and maybe even won some new listeners.

We also got recognized a couple of times, which is always super gratifying. AND to cap it all off, we bought a new microphone. I'd been thinking my voice sounded a little "thin" (not sure how else to describe it), and we figured a different mic might be necessary, given the difference in tone and pitch of me and Thom's voices. The cherry on top was that the staff-member who helped us had heard of Gundam, and might check out the podcast.

Unsurprisingly, we took a lot of notes at the Tomino panel, and at the other panel we attended, "8 Ways to Analyze Anime," and these notes will probably become a bonus episode this month or next.
