Podcast Performance Report: August 2019 (Patreon)

Dear Patrons,

This was a fantastic month for us - social media followings increased significantly, as did patronage and patreon earnings! Welcome, all you new patrons! Average listens continued to increase steadily as well. Oddly our subscriber count increased rapidly in the first two weeks (130 new subscribers in two weeks) and then plateaued through the end of August (13 new subscribers in two weeks). 

So here are the key August stats:

• Est. total podcast downloads at end of August: 89,000
• Est. podcast downloads for August: 15,000 vs. 13,000 in July. 
• Peak downloads for any single day: 919, recorded on August 24. This was the release day for episode 2.13 "Appetite for Mass Destruction." This narrowly beat July's best day (905 downloads) but was still a hair's breadth short of the all-time peak (920 downloads in June).
• August subscriber* peak: 1,498 on August 22, up from June's peak of 1356. 

*Due to the way podcast RSS feeds interact with various podcast apps, "subscribers" fluctuates daily and is only ever a rough estimate.
