Podcast Performance Report: July 2019 (Patreon)

Dear Patrons,

We thought you might appreciate hearing how the podcast is doing, and we want to be transparent with you about its performance. After all, your patronage makes it possible for us to make the podcast. You have a stake in it too!

So here are the July stats:

  • Total podcast downloads to-date: 74,100
  • Total podcast downloads for July, across all platforms: 12,950.
  • Peak downloads for any single day: 905, recorded on July 27. This was the release day for episode 2.9 "Political Considerations." This was also the second most downloads for any single day in MSB history, coming just shy of beating the June 29 peak of 920 downloads.
  • July subscriber* peak: 1,356 on July 30, up from June's peak of 1300 on June 27. 

*Due to the way podcast RSS feeds interact with various podcast apps, "subscribers" fluctuates daily and is only ever a rough estimate.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. if you make something of serious quality and effort, people will come. And honestly, it's only going to multiply more and more IMO. I can think of so many great bands who were putting out great material from the getgo but it took time for the droves of fan to come and for word to spread.... Hell, that's actually most art... Fortunately we live in a digital age where the appreciation and fandom can show up faster than before.
