Q & A: Could you explain the various stages of warship construction? 1. What does actually it mean to be “laid down,” “launched,” “completed,” “commissioned,” “fitting out,” “working up,” and “on a shakedown cruise” (and any other key milestone I’ve missed)? 2. At what point in the process would a warship technically be “seaworthy” in an emergency — as in, it could sail on the open ocean and carry-out non-military functions, like natural disaster relief or transporting refugees?

The 5th USA Army Airforce version of the B-25 had up to twelve .50 caliber machine guns pointing forward. and they would attack at tree top height while leaving a trail of parafrag bombs in their wake. If you survived one of these attacks I don't think you would hang around for a second.
