Whilst in Special Forces training in the early 1970s, I had the opportunity to "familiarization fire" the Soviet PTRS-41 14.5mm antitank rifle. It rang your bell, even with a tight cheek weld and firmly against your shoulder. Apparently, the PTRS is being used currently by pro-Russian "militia", with WW2 vintage ammunition in the Russia/Ukraine war.

Appearing possibly of turn-of-the-century to v. early WW I-ish weaponry (?), nice! Any idea what % LESS smokeless powder your apparently older 20mm cartridge held, than the next successive generation 20mm cartridge, say possibly the inter-war years ?
