Hello everyone!

When I'm in the US in February, it looks like there will be 4-5 places we can meet up, more details on that soon.

Since I will have some time on my hands as the schedule isn't as packed as last April, I was thinking about some ancillary filming I could do on my way around.

Something like trying US fast food restaurants, expanding on a better version of the travel Vlog I did for Canada, or similar. What do you think and what ideas (within reason) do you suggest?

Drach :)

east coast or west coast?

I know it would be stupidly expensive but will there be/are there plans to go to Hawaii/ Pearl Harbor?

Michael Imbesi

If you ever come back for a third US trip and visit Baltimore, I’d suggest hitting the B&O railroad museum.

Hopefully you will get to Texas this year. The Nimitz Museum, NASA, and the USS Texas in dry dock are all must see sights. That being said, go to Rudy’s BBQ if your looking for chains.

I see you will be visiting New Jersey. Across the Del River, in north Philly is a section of the colonial King's Highway, which includes a bridge from1697-oldest bridge(in US), that is in use. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankford_Avenue_Bridge. Not exactly naval, but water is involved.

I'd be more interested in seeing your reaction to Parks and Landmarks, I think, than fast food. Does Mrs. Drach have interests that could make for entertaining visits?

Also, the Chapel of the Four Chaplains is at the Philly Navy Yard. It commemorates the sinking of Dorchester, and the heroism of the four chaplains, among the 672 men lost. http://fourchaplains.org/

Obviously, I am from the Philadelphia area. They may arrange tours of the Philly Navy Yard. Although it is no longer a US Navy installation, it is building 5 National Security Multi-mission Vessels, training vessels for the Merchant Marine Academies. https://youtu.be/xs95cbQE3yQ. Also if the weather turns terrible, and you're looking for an indoor activity, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, has a collection of arms, including a sword belonging to Oliver Cromwell, as well as many seascapes.

Well, you COULD take a guided tour of the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Insofar as its linkage to all things naval, well, all the sailors I’ve ever met really, REALLY liked whiskey. So I guess there is that. Not to mention, on the tour, they encourage tasting the whiskey. So, yeah… ;>)

Know where you are going to be so some of us might meet you IRL for the first time?

Depending on where you are in the country, if you're looking for fast food restaurants, I'd recommend Five Guys (in the northeast) or In-and-Out Burger (in the southwest).

I see your Meet and Greet event on the USS New Jersey site. After the Meet and Greet, will you be touring the battleship with us, or be on your way to your next location? https://www.battleshipnewjersey.org/event/meet-drachinifel-on-the-battleship/?instance_id=874 Thanks - just trying to plan for the day, although it's awhile away. Thanks
