So, whilst I was in Canada earlier this year I recorded a series of short clips on most days which were a sort of 'behind the scenes' thing mostly looking at where we were staying and what we were going to visit.

Since people seemed to like the Gibraltar ones I did, would you be interested in seeing the clips from Canada and offering your feedback on how I could improve 'behind the scenes' stuff for other filming trips I do, which would then be exclusive to Patreon subscribers?

Little snippets of what you find on those trips could be fun. Even better if they're tangentially related to the channels focus, or even adjacent. An example could be... You recently did a Video on the Olympia. Given it's location, I would be almost certain that you at least did a drive-by of the SS United States (in it's dilapidated state) and/or drove by the old Philly Naval Yard. While you usually want to do in-depth videos on everything, just a quick video of while you're there would be interesting to your viewers. And while I'm thinking of it... YouTube is really pushing the shorts right now, so doing some of those to play to the Algorithm would probably be good for the channel. And you have a lot of opportunities with 'adjacent' type things - to take the Olympia example, you said in the video that you didn't get a chance to really go through the Becuna. But just a 60-second video on your phone would potentially drive views to the rest of your channel, even if it's only looking down on the ship from the Olympia's deck.

I agree with Steven Vanosdall (above) on the idea of using shorts. Seeing the actual ships in detail is very helpful for visualizing. Also, seeing a real person examine the ship and its equipment gives us some idea of scale. If you happen to visit two ships of the same class, there are differences between what Museum A was able to save and what Museum B was able to save, and those comparisons might also be helpful.

MOAR DRACH!

As an added suggestion, if the museum staff is ok with it, could you do a brief talk with someone from the crew? It could help promote the museum and maybe encourage viewers to volunteer at their local museum.

Any more videos of your baseball comentary?

You have my complete consent, in case it was needed, to show any footage of me

I agree with the suggestion of keeping them "shorts" (5 minutes tops). There's nothing more boring than listening to Uncle John rattle on for 15 minutes about how great Paris was. I should know because I am Uncle John!

I like history now, high school days…not so much.

I would love to see your videos and please include a bit of your/teams opinion/reaction to the places you stay at, eat at and other things that strike you as differnt to your own country/area there of. It would give us an insight on the differences between the 2 locals and how you/ your team sees the culture of the place you are visiting. I know some people asked me what I thought of countries I visited while in the USN. I still get asked ocasionally after 40 years. We may never get to go to these places even if they are in our country.

I like the idea but not if it takes up "production time". Keep the editing etc to a minimum and let's see the raw stuff.

I agree with the idea, and much of what was put forward by the earlier comments (particularly Steven's), but not if it is exclusive to Patreon subscribers, speaking as one myself. Your insight is invaluable, and interesting even for someone who has no background in history as a whole, naval or otherwise. There is little reason to limit the scope of this insight to Patreon subscribers. Something along the lines of editing said clips into a short playlist on delayed release to the wider public would be much, much appreciated.

Fully behind seeing the behind the scenes videos. That said, is there a timeline on your Gibraltar video(s)?
