I think only perfectionists and isolationists that don't want outsiders around them will be aggressively attacking someone that isn't a native speaker of the language. Having not made it past preschool in Augsburg eons ago and English being my 3rd language starting at 4rth grade, I surely will be the last to criticize someone for there language skills, lol. like with English dialects, Southern, California, Newengland-Yankey, Londen-area, etc, etc, etc, there are a few dialects in german (high german being the only name I remember from eons ago), proper pronunciations will depend on whom you ask. ye need not look any further than a famous "I am a pastry" ich bin ein Berliner, speech, lol. yes tacking 'er' on the end of a place does imply someone from there, it is also a name of a pastry (much like a 'new yorker' is a kind of pizza as well), with context, and depending on dialect, (in a southern voice) we'ens know what y'all are say-'n', you good, be on with it, lol.
