Hello everyone, with 25K subs approaching rapidly, I have noticed a few of you have been kind enough to sub above the $5 level, but at the moment you aren't receiving any further reward for it. I'd like to be able to address that.

At the same time, I also want to make it clear that this isn't about trying to grab money from people, simply align the rewards with what people are willing to give.

So, I am proposing to introduce another level, a $10 level. My two questions are:

1) Would you be OK with this?

2) What should the reward at this level be? I am currently thinking a collective vote for patrons at this level once per month to raise a ship on the list for review from wherever it is to be reviewed in the following month. As the list is literally 5 years long at this point, this should allow some ships that were simply requested later to be reviewed sooner.

Thoughts and feedback appreciated as always.

While I have only been at the upper tier 1 month you answered my question days after my first payment at that level went in — I was not expecting you to be so quick. Perhaps it should be more about inserting more lag at the bottom than speed at the top? I’m not certain I have enough knowledge of naval warfare to ask interesting questions every month so I don’t know if I can be a good source for rewarding those that do.

I support the idea of a new and higher level. Although it is mostly a bad idea to take away rewards from a level, it might be an idea to consider moving some of the special rewards up to the new highest level, for instance the guarantee of having a question answered for the Drydock. I would pretty much just like to support your great work, and personally have no nee for more rewards.

I think everything Drach said is a good idea.

We all will support you and your awesome channel. I'm sure many people can afford the $10 mark so its a good price point. I would be mindful of setting a limit of how many times people can bump ahead eg 3 ships requested in a lifetime or something.

I'd be OK with the $10 level if I retain the $5 bonus (my once per month question for the Drydock). I think the vote idea is the way to go with you being the tie breaker for the 5-10 of us that are going $10 right away lol.

The rewards really don't matter to me, I'm just happy to support this awesome channel and what you do

1) I would have no problem with even $15. I want to further the amazing scholarship on here, irrespective of special privileges. I don't think new special privileges are needed--I suspect if I gave you more and floated a subject matter further of discussion, you probably would go out of your way to enlighten me irrespective of a formal obligation to do so. 2) I recommend the ability to give, additional, one-time donations. I tried to give a $250 donation around the new year and was unable--probably because I am clinically retarded when it comes to such matters. In any event, I think there are others than me who would like to just support the scholarship. 3) If you were going to give any additional "privileges," I would recommend an email address where we could email you and elaborate on some of our questions. I understand that you might view this as a Pandora's box of sorts--but you would not have to reply to emails of the people who meet this level of patronage and I suspect that more detailed explanations of questions--e.g. why I believe Ise's conversion was I'll advised--would improve your product and better be able to tap into ulir impressive knowledge of this subject matter.

Sounds good on both.

I signed up for the $5 whatever that equates to, I'm really not fussed about rewards. Just listening to the information suits me, I'm interested in the coastal forces having known an old guy that was involved with MGB's but anything is of interest to me, Keep Up The Good Work Drach 👍

Of course adding a new tier wouldn't be a problem, I agree the people who pay more than $5 should get a tier for themselves. It's only fair. About the rewards, I'm fine with anything you think up, I'm not too bothered with those.

As a new member I could not say it better that Gabriel A Hawkins post. I to tried to give more and was unable. I would gladly give $20. I am here for the knowledge and your dry wit and humor.

I would have no issues with you adding a new tier, but what reward that tier will give is up to you.
