Tenzin said in the episode Aang passed away. 2 Avatars cant be alive same time. The next Avatar is chosen after the previous one dies.

tenzin is also the son of katara and aang so there wasn't a tenzin in the previous series and the avatar cycle starts not every 100 years but everytime one dies that's why no one could find the avatar when aang was in the ice berg for that 100 years they went and attacked the babies in search for the new avatar because of ths

The high highs and low lows of this show are very divisive among the Avatar fanbase. I enjoy Korra a lot and have probably watched more reactions for it at this point than the original series. (It is also the only series I've seen where the rabid fanbase has caused a reacter to quit the series midway). It's always nice seeing others react to "controversial" media and giving their honest opinion. Hope we get some interesting reactions for this series as well.

Its not boruto bad. Borutos like a 3/10. Korra at least is like a 6/10 most of the time

The avatar is a reincarnation cycle. The previous needs to die first as the new one is born relatively around the same time. Aang died the same amount of years as Korras age
