The timeline in Ippo is a mess to figure out. I believe it's the mid-to-late 90s, maybe like '96 or '97. It's been at least 2 years, probably 3, since Volg returned to Russia and retired. So to go from not training at all to being able to last 9 minutes in the ring in the span of a week is impressive. I just wanted to give a shout-out to Volg for that. He worked hard to give Ippo this chance.
