Lost Children by far my favorite Berserk arc. Its a S and one of my favorite arcs in any anime or manga. No it doesn’t have a wild crazy moments that causes arcs to top most peoples lists but it’s such a well told story and hits a part of fantasy I feel is neglected in that it never focuses on the small backwood villages, usually the large metropolis or such and the arc does it so much justice. I love it’s take on fairy tails and the realities to the escapism inherent in all of them. Love that Guts takes a back role while also being the puzzle piece that causes the movements in the story when needed. Berserk is a story of crazy darkness to extremes but Jill and Rosine’s plight hits me the most maybe because of how real it is. The hopelessness that exist as a kid in a bad situation with no power to change it. They dream of a fantasy outside world only for the sobering reality that there is no neverland. There is no escape and all you can do is struggle and survive. Which is more wholly the story of Berserk. Surviving and carrying on through immense suffering.
