It Shonen to Seinen. Is what it is. Most Shonen character would get a surge of power to beat hardened warriors and a elbow to the nose would do nothing to them usually. This was just to show hopelessness in the face of pure violence and how violence pervades and essentially is the lifeblood of the Vikings
