Very good catch on that Toki info. I use that info about her in a lot of my personal theories about the show

Anonymous

Toki saying she's at the end of her trip can be interpreted in different ways, idk if I should say anymore so I'll let you have your own opinion on this but I don't think she was talking about some fate IMO

Creatinemanic

One piece is a story about adventure and the will of people. Fate completely negates that because it destroys the concept of free will and goes against everything the story was about from the beginning. Keep that in mind

DoubleDragonBroz

Who said you can’t have free will? 🤦🏾‍♂️ if sending someone 20 years ahead in the future to save a country AT THE PERFECT TIME is not proof enough then I guess. If something HAPPENS, that was predicted/prophesied long ago, that’s fate…doesn’t mean you can’t have free will

Kyogln

Fireboy Sanji, no it does not. You can’t have free will without addressing Fate. Literally the biggest and arguably the most important aspect of the story is the WILL OF THE D. Which are People who are FATED to be great 😭😭😭 but I don’t hear anybody say the will of d destroys the concept of free will.

KingRoboNinja

Toki is so interesting, I really hope we see more of her 😫

Creatinemanic

None of y’all said anything about free will I’m just saying how Fate and prophecy can mess up a story that was about free will. A good comparison to what I’m tryna say is Naruto. In the beginning and near the middle of the story, his character was mostly hard working, he had to work for a lot of things even though he had the nine tails. But near the end they changed that by saying how he was this “prophesied” character and was fated to be the chosen one. If he was always “fated” to be the chosen one then even WITHOUT all that hard work he still would’ve became who he was and change the world. This is more relevant to the story of one piece because it’s very foundations is about free will.

DoubleDragonBroz

I disagree, there would not be a “WITHOUT” for Naruto. Just because it was a prophecy doesn’t mean the hard work doesn’t count. Luffy is supposed to liberate these islands, become the pirate king, find the one piece..when he’s about to die multiple times, someone/something strange happens that saves him to further progress the journey. Just because fate is huge in the story doesn’t mean hard work, and free will doesn’t coexist. You acting as if fate diminishes all those things when it really doesn’t.

Token Log In

Oden is a top 10 character for me.

Token Log In

Toki has the rarest fruit we have seen in the story. A fruit doesn't reoccur until the user dies. So if she jumped 400 years into the future, that would be a 400 year gap the fruit doesn't appear.

Marcus

@Kyogln , fated can be word just to described an interprqrion, I’m just assuming that culture of the D’s is one that consist of such head strong peoples with a particular personality trate that makes them enivibitlly clash with the authorities and oppression of this world, we’ve seen it in at least one way with every D we’ve seen on screen so far. So if you want to say that it’s fate then sure, but it’s as much as fate as it is fate the of a water bottle to be picked up by the hand of a human. By of the things I mentioned are somewhat designed to be that way.

Kyogln

@Marcus I can see where ur coming from, but not really. “The D’s…always follow a checkered fate” -sengoku And if ur saying that things u mentioned are designed that way, doesn’t that prove my point? Things are designed to go a specific way or the d’s are designed to go against the grain. That’s definition of fate and destiny

KingRoboNinja

@Fireboy Sanji what about Anakin Skywalker.. he was the chosen one and was “prophesied” but we can’t just discredit the journey he took as free will lol I can see your original viewpoint.. but DD never said anything about the lack of free will.. and if you think that Strawhat doesn’t tie into fate.. idk man 😂

Ghostnotes

But how would she know of Oden's fate when she can't go back? She wouldn't have seen it already

Ghostnotes

@Fireboy Sanji You can also say that because he does all that work he is fated.
