Nah, not sure why you think that but this episode and the previous one was a tv special and aired back to back on the same day so I’m assuming in order to take up an extra slot then they usually do(Sunday morning tv in japan I think is big thing) they had to play more adds during the episode in order to make it worth for the tv station, probably hence all of the intermission slides/eye catchers

I don’t even think it was because of that at all, their “duel” was based on completely different circumstances compared to luffy and ussop’s one. Ussop’s one was completely based on pride and insecurities while Sanji couldn’t see any other way of dealing with things and thought he had no other choice but the path he was on if he wanted to protect everything he cares about that’s in danger.

Idk why yall chose now to be so impatient with the flashbacks. You missed some shit. The ending song too was the first ending song of early One Piece. With the flashbacks that shit hits hard. Idk why yall skip it. As reactors you gotta be careful with this stuff. As you know yourselves, you wait and wait for your friends to get up to the good bit so you can talk about it. We wait ages for yall to get to these peak moments. If you skip through stuff at the wrong time it can really diminish the overall effect At the start of this episode (you skipped it) Sanji was legitimately thinking about what was at stake in those flashbacks. To the point where there was a scene where before he kicks Luffy, he thinks about what he should do, and he sees flashbacks of the crew, but the last thing that pops into his head before choosing to kick Luffy was an image of Zeff. Yall missed that shit man ;( it sets up the mental struggle for Sanji throughout the whole fight Anyways these episodes are the only two that consistently get tears out of me, even on rewatch. Didn't quite feel the same tho in these reactions coz you seemed so in a rush skipping the flashbacks and stuff. Oh well, appreciate the early upload and still enjoyed

@Ilyas Elric But Given Zoro & Sanjis love/hate relationship & zoros insane loyalty & love for luffy & all the things sanji said before actually attacking luffy , like prepare to die & you won't become king of pirates or how he even said he's fooling everyone this whole time I feel as everyone in the crew don't have luffys emotional awareness just like Nami couldn't read sanji at this moment & believe everything he said & did , I think zoro maybe would have done something to sanji but we will never know just my opinion.

kinda see why y’all skipped cuz u just seen sum of it but this instance specifically these flashbacks were necessary, and they’ve been adding more to his each time. so i agree skipping is a bad look i was waiting for y’all to get here since timeskip😔

Sucks that you guys skipped the beginning of 808. Yeah it as mostly flashbacks, but they way it was directed to me it's one of the most powerful moments in all the anime. You get into Sanji's mindset right before he kicks Luffy, and his internal struggle between choosing Luffy or Zeff is amazing. Hopefully you can go back and rewatch that, its freaking amazing.
