Metamorphopsia is a problem with vision in which objects appear distorted. This could result in a number of things – straight lines may appear to be curved, bent or wavy, objects may appear to be smaller or larger than they actually are, or farther away or closer than they actually are. Depth perception is when your eyes see things from two different angles to tell how close they are. Its close to what you mean amenz but in one piece its not your eyes that are messing you up its the anime. Which would fall under metamorphopsia.

I disagree, amenz is saying how the perceived depth perception in certain scenes are actually not the way they portray it to be. Metamorphopsia is a visual defect in one's eye. How could an anime have a visual defect.

Yo I can't remember off the top of my head but the Arc Maxum (skypia boat), wasn't the first depth perception argument. I remember at the time thinking "this again XD" I think it may have been in Little Garden or Alabasta... maybe with Pell? I forget

If I showed you pic of person A with a blue background, and then a picture of person B with blue background, it's not depth perception if I show you a third pic that shows them face to face. You just assumed they were in different places because they weren't shown in the same shot at first. There's no "depth perception" as Amenz calls it. The thing that Amenz tries to claim is instead when you see person A and B in the same picture, and then you see another angle and they look much further apart than they did in the first picture even though you could see them both in both pictures.

If i remember correctly the depth perception part in punk hazard was the boat thing on the lake between the magma/ice parts where they got shot by brownbeard and stuff. But I could be wrong ofc

Ahhhhh the timeless debate. Lycan got this one in the bag tho. Depth Perception has a very specific meaning. Can't just call all illusions or misperception "Depth Perception" hahaha
