Alabasta is basically the English translation of Arabasta which is basically the direct Japanese translation. In Japan the "ra" and "la" sound written as (ら） are the same but in the Japanese-english way of writing called "romaji" it is only written as "ra"

Sea Kings and Sea monsters. In an SBS Oda said that Sea Monsters are mammals, where Sea Kings are just humongous fish.

People say their favorite arc is marineford because of whitebeard pirates. One piece is a long series so every arc wouldnt be as good as the others. Oda is the type of writer who moves his arcs like chest pieces, setting up everything for checkmate. Fishman island is just a build up and world building arc. It’s not my favorite either.

I dont know exactly but Oda got married and had kids sometime around or after timeskip. Who knows if that affected his writing quality for better or worse.

The reveals here fiddle with the race relations stuff that it was going for up till now, for better or for worse. It does help to make the fishman/human relations unique to the world and really pinpoint Hordy's motivations to singleminded hate, but to me at least it doesn't hit as hard as it really could.

alot of the times Rs and Ls get swaped out in the translations lougetown/ Rougetown alot of other examples in op of this happening its more of thing where pronunciation for certain words gets jumbled you see em alot as the story goes furthur

It can be pronounced as either Alabasta or Arabasta. Alabasta is the english pronunciation of it and is the most common pronunciation in the west since Japanese language doesnt have any L's in its alphabet and is commonly replaced with the letter R. Like how most people in the east pronounce Luffy's name as 'Ruffy' i believe
