Excellent Discussion as usual OdaTackles Racism this arc you’ll see it even more as you go along. What you said about Hachi is completely true the guy he followed and thought was cool but never really considered what Arlong did as wrong because of what humans had done to them. But I think it took Arlong losing, and conversation with Rayleigh and Jinbei to snap him out of that way of thinking. Almost spoiled a couple times😅🤣Goda makes shit connect too much, be having me confused and not remember when certain things happened, and I end up spoiling on accident.

Since you mentioned Hachi’s growth it should be brought up that he had his own cover story (similar to the side story they animated where Buggy met the guy in the treasure chest and got his body back) that shows that time period between Arlong Park and Saboady. It’s worth looking up.

I am glad you enjoy the arc. Just like Skypia it is "too slow" for some people, because it is more on the setup side for the future, rather than a huge war like Marinford with non stop fights. I think this arc is important to let us breath and ramp up into the New World heat, where the Emperors rule.
