What I like most about Marineford (or even the whole Summit War Saga) is that, even though you don‘t get to see the Strawhats for most of the 50 or so episodes, you never really get to the point, where you wish for the arc to be over as soon as possible, so you can see the crew again. There are not many series that can get away with dismissing the main cast for a long stretch like that.

Translator Notes: "genjutsu" translates to "reality" in english, so you hear it a quite a bit outside of Naruto

How many of you in hindsight forgot that Roger was Shank's Captain. This explains his initial meeting with whitebeard and appearance at marineford, he had obligations to look after Ace just like Ivankov-Luffy. inb4 shanks is main villain lol.

Here's some info about the movies for the future (no rush, I saw people keep suggesting Strong World for the end of this arc). Out of 14 movies, Oda seriously contributed to only #10: "Strong World" (writer), 12: "Z" and 13: "Gold" (executive producer), and 14: "Stampede" (supervisor). Those 4 movies are the only ones I have seen and are recommended for their great animation and stories. Oda wrote "Strong World" because it's for One Piece's 10th anniversary.
