Another potential bit of foreshadowing in regards to the world sinking that's often overlooked comes from Chapter 161. Vivi describes Alabasta's Sandora river, and how the sea has been gradually overtaking it in recent years. Might be coincidence, but it's interesting that it was seeded at the same point of the story that the ancient weapons and poneglyphs were.

I bet with the world sunk underwater, thats why the WG pushes for discrimination against the fishmen. They biologically can survive to uncover any underwater ruins
