Log Line: Set in modern-day Hawaii, Doogie Kameäloha, M.D. follows Lahela "Doogie" Kameåloha, a mixed race 16-year-old girl, juggling a
budding medical career and life as a teenager. Guiding Lahela (and also complicating things) is her family, including her spit-fire Irish mother who's also her supervisor at the hospital, and her Hawaiian "Local Boy" father struggling to accept that his daughter is no longer his little girl. LAHELA KAMEALOHA is not leading the life of a normal 16 year old girl -- because she is already a doctor,
Hawai's answer to Dr. Doogie Howser, and although she still lives with her family and barely has her driver's license, her days arenfilled with life-or-death decisions...

Roles:

[DR. LAHELA KAMEĀLOHA (Doogie)]
Series Regular Female, 12-17 years old to play a young 16 years old, MIXED
Asian and/or Polynesian and white, Lahela initially appears to be a typical 16 year old girl, working on getting her driver's license, hanging out with her family, and trying to get her almost-boyfriend Walter alone for that first kiss. But Lahela is leading a far from normal life; she is a child prodigy, who has
already graduated from college and medical school, and is earning her residency at a local hospital (where her mother is the Chief Of Staff). She has a wisdom to her and is an old soul, but yet in many ways she is still a child, one who is just taking the first steps to adulthood while also balancing the life
or death responsibility that comes with being a doctor.

[DR. CLARA HANNON]
Female, late 30s to mid-50s, white
the Chief Of Staff at the hospital, Clara is also Lahela's mother. She is all business at
work, except when she worries about her daughter possibly being hungry. Clara can't really conceal her pride in Lahela's accomplishments, but fears that her drive to pack as much¡achievement into every possible second has made her life (and her daughter's life) an imbalanced, lopsided, exquisitely
well-organized mess.

[BENNY KAMEĀLOHA]
Male, late 30s to mid-50s, Asian and/or Polynesian, Lahela's father, happily married to Clara, Benny runs a combination shave-ice and florist's shop, and he is Lahela's "fun" parent. Also the father of 17 year old Kai and 12 year old Brian Patrick, Benny has a more relaxed schedule than his wife, and he's free to go surfing or fishing with Lahela, or to accompany her
on her driving test. Mellow and laid-back, he adores his daughter and is deeply proud of her accomplishments. Benny embodies the Aloha spirit and is welcoming to all. SERIES REGULAR (1)

[KAI KAMEĀLOHA]
Male 17-18 Series Regular
Lahela's hot older brother, he is the first child of Benny and Clara, and he is regularly seen interacting with his family. He is a charming, effortlessly charismatic guy who sometimesnstruggles with book smarts, but in terms of emotional intelligence, he is off the charts...

[NOELANI]
Female Mid to late 20s Series Regular
A vivacious island girl, she too is having her residency at the same hospital as Lahela and Charles, and she is regularly seen interacting with them...

[CHARLES]
Male Mid to late 20s
A young gay man from the Midwest, he too is having his residency at the same hospital as Lahela and Noelani, and he is regularly seen interacting with them..

[STEPH DENISCO]
Female 14 to 17 to play a Series Regular
Steph is Lahela's best friend, and she likes to make an entrance. Steph acts as Lahela's romantic consigliere during young 16 her efforts to be alone with Walter long enough to give him a kiss he will never forget...

[BRIAN PATRICK KAMEALOHA]
Male 12-13 Series Regular
Lahela's pesky younger brother, he is the third child of Benny and Clara, and he is regularly seen interacting with his family. He is the annoying, lovable little brother who is starved for attention and also like the mascot of the family..
