FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY! I just learned how to use the pen tool in Photoshop to make my illustrations look even closer to the real thing. I know this doesn't seem like much but this is a major breakthrough to be able to increase the quality of my animations.

Through much of the animations you've seen me do, a lot of them are just recycling or rotoscoping animations already in the anime, and then edited to fit my scene. While this certainly gets the job done and probably wasn't noticed by much of you, it limits my ability/creativity to only use illustrations that are already made in the show. Because of this, I've attempted to just redraw the characters but have always come up short in terms of quality. First I tried Adobe Animate drawing, then used Photoshop's brush tool, and all these tools got close, but not to the level of quality I wanted.

But after watching some tutorials on Youtube, I FINALLY found a workflow that hits it! Now, it might take more time to do these animations, because now I'll have to do these four steps for every frame of animation (lol kill me) but at least I have a deep understanding of HOW to do it.

Overall, very happy with this discovery, now I just have to get better at line animation/drawing.
