Hi All,

We won't beat about the bush; we'll be delaying the UE5 build. It's something we'd tried to avoid doing, but due to a combination of staff sickness and some elements which simply need more time to reach a quality we're happy with, we need to delay.

There's no single element we can point to and say "this is the cause of the delay", it's just a lot of small things which have added up. We attempted to buckle down and take the hit of increased workload, but three weeks of 14 hour workdays have caught up with us and we need to ease off the gas.

In the words of Shigeru Miyamoto; a delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever. In the meantime here's a sneaky preview of The Library Tal-Senet, a location you'll become very familiar with in the first chapter of the game.

There will still be an update this month, as we can spend a bit of time wrapping up one of the new characters and porting it back into the UE4 build in time for Halloween.

We know that you'll be disappointed with this news, honestly we're gutted having to make this call, but we hope you understand the reasoning behind the decision.

Delay as much as you need, plz don’t turn out like cyberpunk

Yodasbigdick

I would always rather devs take their time and do it right than kill themselves trying to rush it out to market.

Classy Cthulhu47

I'd rather wait a decade for a masterpiece then get something quick and mediocre. Take as much time as needed.

SuperSaiyanDino

Yalls health is important so if y'all need a break to get back to 100% then by all means. The fans will still be here while y'all recover.

Kraiklin

Not disappointed at all, I'd much rather wait a bit longer so that you don't need to crunch and can make things the way you want them. Take your time, and take care of yourselves!

I really appreciate you guys we all know you are working hard but take your time.Telling us you need more time is better than putting out something that doesn't show how hard you all worked on it would be much worse than waiting just a bit longer.

SwiftKitten

do not try to "crunch" to get things out "on time" i feel i can speak for nearly everyone when i say we don't want that. take your time. and do things right. we all care about you and your team. dont push yourself.. i would NEVER ask anyone to work more than 8 hours.

Sickness is unavoidable during the autumn and winter seasons, please take care of yourselves! I would much rather have delays than to watch you all push yourselves too hard and burn out. That's one easy way to enter development hell.

Daniel Geeson

3 weeks of 14hours days, sheesh, Thank you for wanting to get it done, but please, don't push yourself. Take care of yourselves and take some down time too, it's important for your health. We'll still be here when it's ready.

Leif

I am disappointed to hear that you crunched. I realise how important it is to get shit done, but I want my games humanely developed, please. If the next update just says the team took a day off and had a barbecue, I'll be over here cheering.

Don't burn yourselves out. I'd rather wait for a great game from a team operating at 100% than have anyone compromise their health.

Razor_Wolf

So far the project had maintained quality work and regular updates so general attitude towards the team is pretty high. When factoring in the engine swap a delay isn't that unexpected. Personally I find my jimmies to be unrustled and am happy that you guys are up front with people on what's going on.

Mental and physical health is more important than anything, y’all are doing your best and and making a great game , take all the time you need !

ChocolateYeti

Thanks for the upfront honesty. I’ll echo the message that taking your time with this game to maintain healthy lifestyles is a must. I’m sure all of us here are willing to wait for this game. Keep us updated so we can continue to cheer you guys on! For now, rest up and get the team back to 100%. 😎

Thank you for the communication. Please don't crunch. Quality of life is most important.

Thanks for the heads up! I am certain that the majority of us do not mind the delay, and are excited for what you guys will be able to create with the proper time (and rest lol). Keep up the good work!

Gaius_The_Dragon

I would rather wait for a good product then have a bad product rushed. Please take your time resting up and give us what you can.

RagnaBlade

Sickness is a part of life sadly, so I won't hold it against any of you, also from what I've heard UE5 is quite different from UE4 in terms of how it handles things so I almost expect there to be bumps in the road. take your time, get well, then return.

ETA's are always appreciated, but I'd much rather wait for a better product!

Sponge Bob

No need to crunch guys, I can wait. This is a very rare full 3D non jank adult game. I can wait.

Anonymous

I'll echo what everyone else is saying, don't feel too pressured to crunch, the community you've built is more than understanding! love the work so far and keep yourselves healthy.

OdaNobunaga

Just glad we get an update post on the progress, take your time and just give a "Heya, listen! This is what is going on" every now and then, then I am happy tbh.

just take your time, there's no rush, the game has huge potential and we don't want it to be another Anthem :)

Gooddookie

rushing things out is what is wrong with the gaming industry nowdays. i'd rather it be late and good then early and broken.
