It wouldn't be quite right for me to ignore what day it is, huh? After all, you guys know me well enough to anticipate thoughtful (sappy) posts now and then.

I'll admit, I wish I had something big for you all right now to watch or experience on this anniversary of the Patreon's launch. Technically, it was yesterday that I opened, but I dedicated the entire day/night to working on audio for How to Make a Webseries.

That's where I'm at now, too--just like last year, I write to you on Patreon in the middle of a huge, consuming project that anybody else would call me a fool for trying. Last year, it was Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. This year, it's a series meant to help other people make their very own kind of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. Or Marble Hornets. Or Wyoming Incident. Or Petscop.

I never feel good about the time it takes me to get videos out--that's no secret. The friend who worked on Don't Hug Me I'm Scared with me and the past October videos, he and I have a joke: "If it's ever on time, it's not a Night Mind project." The only videos I ever seem to make that appear on schedule are my Halloween releases, mercifully.

Knowing how late I run with things, how late I'm running now with promised goods, and looking at my current station in life, all I can think of is how lucky I am and how amazing you all are. I wouldn't have any of this if it wasn't for you, and you deserve twice as much effort and output as I've produced in this past year.

I think the most beautiful gift you give me is your patience. It has been a rough, mean year since January. I've been knocked off course and out of my working pattern more often than I can count by things no one could predict or help. It's only been in July that I've finally settled and can take full control of my entire world, which I've been doing since my big move was finished:

- I purchased a 4K camcorder with a very special "extra feature" that will come in handy for several live action pieces on the channel, starting with How to Make a Webseries.

- I've tested almost all the technology needed for the first Night Mind Original short film, which will be shot in the later half of September (due to issues with the owner of the filming location that are now being worked out). I've also assembled my actors, one of which will be a real surprise to all of you and his audience, too.

- (No, it is not Nyx Fears.)

 - Work has already begun for October, which will be my most ambitious and content-filled yet. Production for October material begins in September, to ensure everything is ready and up to my quality standards.

- And of course, I'm finally making the long-awaited and asked-for How to Make a Webseries course.

- (Oh, and I'll be kickstarting my own quite soon, too. But there's already something out there I've had a strong hand in making...)

Seeing people throw stones for "lack of content" or "lazy behavior" because I'm supported by Patreon hurts; I'm unable to show people all the work I do behind the scenes for Night Mind and all the hours I spend on content that's been promised. So much of it is stuff I just can't give away, because you guys love surprises as much as I do.

But those who don't understand and make snide comments don't matter. Because I have you, and you guys understand and know me more than my general audience does. Your patience and support is the only reason I'm here or able to work to the amount and extent I'm now doing. I love you, all, and I'm looking forward to all the moments we'll be sharing together soon and the creations we've built as a community.

Thank you!

- Sincerely, Nick
