YO FOLKS~! Oh man, SPOOKY TIME is coming up on us reeaaaaal soon! I wonder if I'll be able to draw something for it... maybe make a lil mini spooky themed TFOL thing? We'll see... It'd be in next month's build so it would be late anyways, but still fun? ;O

Anyways here's what we've been up to this week!

Starting with a Word from Vixel!

10/17 weekly update:

Hey fluffs!
I expanded my debug tools last week and have been using them to rapidly fix bugs in the Upgrade Project! I added a Warp Zone to quickly change rooms, and a dialogue debug menu which lets me see all available dialogues at any moment, and instantly play or unplay them with keyboard shortcuts. This makes it FAST to check that the quests and dialogues in the game are linked together correctly, and that all the critters are showing the correct interact icons.

Whenever this step is completed, I'll move on to spawning the critters in the actual game world and walking around ironing out any broken cutscene and minigame triggers. (Stuff I can only debug while standing in the rooms where they happen.) Hoping to get into that phase this week!
Upgrade Project is quickly becoming stable, but since the month's over halfway over, we'll put our monthly content in the Act 2 project for October. I'll be working on tasks in both projects this coming week! ^.^

My end, I've got a few things in the works!

First! I got around to fleshing out a couple more visiting critters! I think I'll start animating the idles for all of these guys soon.

Second - I wrote A TON for our booty-line up. I've still gotta finish up the illustrations, but the writing is quite spicy! It's interesting as some of these group pics are getting more and more involved. This one has 3 critters on display, Racal interacting, and Scarlett chiming in here and there. With 5 critters interacting, there's tons of fun opportunity for raunchy goodness, but I'm also wondering if we might be running into some clarity issues like figuring out who is talking at a glance.

We're considering colored texts or at least colored names for the speakers. but it's a tricky problem to solve! We don't want anything TOO drastic that it calls too much attention to itself, but it's definitely something new we need to design for. So we'll see!

Third! I've been messing with that water color program more! I got that fun bun image above. I'll upload a timelapse tomorrow, that shits pretty fun to see!

OK! That's it for now! We'll see ya guys soon!

For the coloured text thought, id pop into the deltarunes devs streams they have some fun and wacky solutions for dialogue games you might be interested in.

Oooh I didn't know deltarune did dev streams :O! But yeah, I've considered approaches like theirs. It works pretty well for that kind of game, but not so much in something like ours I think! We'll see though!

Oh. You made so much progress. I didn't play a lot as I didn't want to get spoiled on all the events.

i mean the structure is very different, but i thinks theres a few things you could translate between, idea wise.
