AYO~! Here's what we've been up to!

Starting with a Word from Vixel!

9/19 weekly update:

After more playtesting for the new Itch builds, I had to fix another slew of bugs! ;w;

Chapter selecting to "Pick up the Sweater" corrupts the savegame. Traveling to the Ruins without picking up the sweater makes critters confused which part of the quest they're in and say stuff out of order. The fix for this was rather involved since there was bad logic deep down in both the quest manager script and the savegame script. This affects our current builds too, so the fix will be in our September Patreon build.

I added a new debug tool that lets me slow down the game's framerate. Testing the game at low FPS revealed some new issues, like the game softlocking with Red stuck in midair while jumping into the Lake, and a despawn trigger activating early and leaving Peter and Scarlett spawned in two places at once. Fixed everything I could find!

Graphics optimization in the Upgrade project is going steady! Mostly Deep Woods scenes left to do. This coming week I'll keep strong on the Upgrade project and work on adding new content (the Bear scene voted last month!) for our September Patreon build.

On my side, I've been doing a lot of little assets for Act 3 stuff! Lots of writing too! Art-wise I wanted to get the next animation ready, thus the scene above! Gonna have this sent off to clean up by Pocket Paws later :3 There's a second scene that's lookin' pretty solid too!

I actually animated these a few months back, you can probably dig up some screenshots from previous "This Week in the Forest" posts. But there was a few drawing issues with both of the scenes, so I actually reanimated their heads to tweak perspective issues.

That and finally got a good direction on the Bear Scene story >:D. It's got a bit of a departure from the normal method of getting to see these scenes, so that should be fun!

I TOOOTALLY forgot to do the 10$+ poll this month! I'll have one up tomorrow for sure!
