CLOSING HIGHER TIERS~! (Patreon)

Yo dawgs! I've got some... news. Both good and bad, depending now you look at it.

I've decided it's best to close the higher tiers. I thought it'd be interesting to give the commission-patreon a go. But I've concluded a couple things. 

• First and foremost. I'm basically accepting commissions normally, and promising MORE (with patreon goals) - by doing normal work >->.
• The VAT charge is 20 percent of whatever the pledge. So the 200 dollar tier, the user gets a 40 dollar fee tacked on. That's quite a bit.
• Though all of the patrons I was working with had good ideas and were a delight to work with - I could see the possibility of me not being able to be as picky. Someone who doesn't know me, might pledge a ton, and I'd feel quite a bit more forced to do whatever they wanted despite not enjoying it. 

All in all. I think this ended up making things feel a bit more like a job. And as you guys know, that's not my intention. It became more things that I had to focus on instead of actually doing the projects that this Patreon is for in the first place.

Moving forward.

Adjustment to Tiers:

• The max tier available will be the 50$ tier for a nice B/W Sketch. 

   

• 10$ Tier will now be given access to past streams. And eventually, certain PSD/LIP Files. (Also, the new Sketch Streams (whenever it's reached) will be 10$+ only)

  
  

   

• All patrons will be getting access to WIPs and stuff once Patron makes uploading more convenient. All patreons will get access to quicker learning material/tutorials. 

   

(things that aren't totally perfectly clean/"a full piece". For example. I plan on making a larger "Art of Jizz" tutorial. This will be a fully planned tutorial, written, with drawn elements, and tons of good info. This will be released publically. However, a random quick talk-through of my layering process. Or a quick talk-through on some other random aspect of art, I'll just throw them up here. it'll be less professional/complete. But very helpful.)

Access to Past Streams

I will be subscribing to Dropbox very soon, and will be posting recent streams, downloadable to any Patron. Warning, they're HUGE. But if you're interested in my workflow, and aren't around for my streams, this will be a very good way to see what I'm up to. 

These streams randomly have interesting tidbits where I go off on tangents and provide mini tutorials/feedback/redlines. Some of these streams have me on mic. Some just have me jamming out to music. Some have me AFKing for an hour or 2 at a time xD. I won't be editing them, they will just be accessible incase you're bored or curious on my workflow. FULL DISCLOSURE - When the mic is on, I say some stupid shit sometimes xD. We have fun :3.

Goal Adjustments

By nixing the two 200 dollar tiers, and three 100 dollar tiers, that's knocking my total patreon amount to about 500 dollars. So some goals are unreached again. 

I want to adjust some of these goals. Things like the sketch stream were very fun, YET VERY mentally challenging. I was pretty burnt out the next few days after that. But I do want to include it in a more reachable goal. I'll adjust it so that the 750 Mark will get you guys access to the Free Sketch Stream.

Learning Atmosphere

All in all, I want you guys to be pledging for 3 main reasons:

• You like what I do.
• You want to see what I can do.
• You might be interested in learning something from me.

Perhaps even in that order. At the moment,  I don't have any access to any learning material, and I want to change that. By offering access to downloadable streams, you guys can see exactly how I do things. Start to finish. This can help a lot seeing one's process. However, it's not the full package. You might see what I'm doing, but you aren't hearing what I'm THINKING.

I want to include more learning/tutorial materials. I have plans for a Jizz tutorial. And I'd like to do some quicker walkthrough/talkthrough videos about how I go about layers/putting a piece together piece by piece. Or how to micro-reference and study.

The thing is, I don't want to lock up learning material, and I certainly don't want to have them at a certain tier. Yet, I need a place to host them. I think, long term, I'll look into finding a way to host them on my own site with a video viewer or something. But for now, 10$+ patrons will be given access to a dropbox link with several gig files.

More legit/planned tutorials will be posted on all sites as per usual.

Nixing the Idea Pot. Introducing the Knowledge Pot.

Despite not posting them yet, I've done quite a few of these so far~ All I have left is Carbuncle and the Chocobo. 

However. I think I'm going to have to cease this. At least for a bit. 

I'm already behind again by a few months, (seriously, where does the time go). And instead, I would rather be more pushed to pump out some sort of learning material every month. I think this will do more greater good, and at the very least, qualm my sanity.

The idea pot will most likely return again. The voting thing was pretty damn fun~!

So what now?

Just a few things that will be happening.

• I'll be opening up for commissions randomly and picky-ly. I plan on opening up a journal saying "Pitch your ideas~!" either in comment or note form. I'll most likely have some sorta theme/thing that I'm currently into to help give people an idea.

  
  

  However, a good idea is a good idea! If it doesn't fit the theme, and it's hella, I probably won't be able to resist.

   

• I keep going insane over here about how many big/finished things I HAVEN'T done. So though commissions will be my main method of money again, it's still going to be sparse, and ideally, most of my time is going to be spent on these larger projects. Seriously. For my sanity.

   

• By pumping out some larger things. And educational stuff. I think this will help up my passive patreon support. More support without having to sacrifice more time to doing stuff. Then I can have more time to developing these big projects and finally start making something large and unique.

I guess that's about it!

Thanks for sticking with me so far folks~! It's been a WILD RIDE lemme tell ya! I've yet to figure everything out (because apparently life is hard, the hell?) - but I definitely think I'm getting closer and closer.
